摘要: Disclosed, among others, are a multilayer film that permits thermal printing or printing by application of pressure from pressure-applying devices. The structure includes an extruded, outer skin layer and an extruded internal pigment layer. Further, the structure includes an extruded image-rendering layer intermediate to the outer skin layer and the pigment layer, the image-rendering layer including a collapsible layer structure, sensitive to the application of temperature and/or pressure, having dispersed therein a plurality of voids, the collapsible layer structure in uncollapsed condition being substantially opaque to obscure from view the pigment layer there beneath. The collapsible layer structure is selectively collapsible by application of temperature and/or pressure to temporarily elevate localized temperature or pressure at the collapsible layer structure at select locations, so as to provide substantially transparent collapsed structure at the select locations, the pigment layer being visible through the substantially transparent collapsed structure.

摘要: The hose includes an outer jacket which includes warp and weft fibers made of Vectran®. The process for making the hose, includes: forming an inner liner and coating the exterior thereof with adhesive; weaving, in a twill weave pattern, Vectran® yarn, in a repeating 2-4-2-4-2 pattern in both the warp and the weft directions; extruding polyurethane onto the woven vectran yarn, the polyurethane extending into pillars between the warp and weft yarn, forming an outer liner; inserting the inner liner coated with adhesive within the outer liner; and, pressurizing the inner liner with steam expanding the inner liner and the adhesive into engagement with the Vectran® yarn and polyurethane pillars of the outer liner.

摘要: A cavitated opaque polymer film, including (i) a beta-cavitated core layer containing a propylene polymer and an impact copolymer and (ii) a matte surface layer with sufficient roughness to serve as a mold-ready skin layer. The core layer may optionally contain a beta cavitating agent. Cavitated opaque labels including: a cavitated core layer; a support layer on one side of the core layer, the support layer containing a thermoplastic polymer; and a matte layer on the side of the core layer opposite the support layer. The core layer contains a propylene polymer, a beta nucleating agent, and an impact copolymer; the matte layer contains at least one of a matte-resin and a matte-surface producing agent. The matte surface outer layer may provide sufficient roughness to provide labels that are mold-ready for IML applications, without need for an adhesive pattern or coating.

摘要: A hose which includes an inner tube having an inside and an outside, with adhesive affixed to the outside of the inner tube is disclosed. At least one electrical conductor is embedded in the adhesive. The conductor(s) may be used for the transmission of signals or for the supply of electrical energy. A woven outer jacket resides outside the inner tube and the inner tube is secured to the outer tube by heat-activated adhesive. A process for making the hose is also disclosed and claimed. Another embodiment includes securing a wire or wires to the exterior of a composite hose by applying a hot-melted thermoplastic material over the entire circumference of the composite hose. Still another embodiment discloses application of the thermoplastic material selectively over the wires only, and not the entire outer circumference of the outer jacket.
