摘要: An improved sensor includes an inductor coil which is formed about a central axis. The inductor coil is configured to provide a magnetic field radially outwardly of the central axis. The monitor circuit monitors changes in the impedance of the coil, to in turn provide an indication of the amount of metal mass radially outwardly of the sensor. The monitor circuit is set to be triggered at a particular amount of metal mass, which would in turn be tailored to the particular application. In one desired application, the sensor is utilized to detect the presence of a nut in a metal plate. Metal plates as are typically utilized with vehicles will often include a number of holes which are to receive nuts. If the nuts are not received in the holes, then that particular metal plate should not be further assembled into the product. One widespread use of such a technique is with the assembly of vehicle bodies. The side sensor will detect the presence of a nut in the hole when positioned within the bore of the nut. The use of the radially outwardly directed magnetic field provides a much more accurate indication of the presence of the nut than prior art "forward looking" sensors.

摘要: Generally, a system and method consistent with the present disclosure may provide a relatively low cost, relatively robust data acquisition and analysis system useful for condition-based maintenance. The system may be useful for condition-based maintenance in industrial applications, e.g., of equipment and/or machinery. The industrial monitoring system may be used, for example, to monitor a condition of rotating machinery, e.g., a wind turbine. The system and method may include data analysis that may be useful for anticipating a need for maintenance, repair and/or replacement of one or more components.

摘要: A small ball valve for chemically active materials is provided which does not require the strength of metal parts and which permits the use of brittle material such as glass or ceramic as well as materials such as fluorocarbon polymers and polytetrafluoroethylene which are resistant to the action of chemically active fluids. A free-floating construction is provided without requiring a stem packing gland and permitting the stem to be integral with the ball. Identical sealing rings are provided with clamping screws which press the sealing rings inward against the ball and outward against the openings in the valve body, the diameter of the valve stem being smaller than the opening in the sealing ring and clamping screw therefor so that the portion of the ball surrounding the valve stem may also float freely under the sealing means with the seal around the ball stem being against the ball itself instead of against the valve stem. For reinforcement of the valve body or to permit the use of the valve when the controlled fluid is under high pressure a metal reinforcing ring may be fitted around the valve body.

摘要: A method of operating a heat pump or air conditioner system is provided. The air conditioner comprises a compressor, a condenser, an expansion device, a cooling coil and an air mover (blower). According to the preferred embodiment, the air mover (blower) is activated at a time after the compressor has been activated to pre-cool the cooling coil and allow for more efficient and effective moisture removal. Also, deactivation of the air handler is delayed for some time after the compressor is deactivated to allow for utilization for the residual cooling ability of the cooling coil due to the presence of cold refrigerant in the cooling coil when the compressor is deactivated.

摘要: A center split, segmented mold for curing a complete tire is provided, comprising a mold container top containing a top mold sidewall plate and a plurality of top tread segments disposed generally equidistant from a central axis and adjacently abutting each other when the mold is in a closed position; and a mold container bottom containing a bottom mold sidewall plate and a plurality of bottom tread segments disposed generally equidistant from the axis and adjacently abutting each other when the mold is in a closed position. Each of the top and bottom tread segments are resiliently biased toward the mold centerline by spring mechanisms, and are slidably coupled to respective frustoconical surfaces of the mold container, such that vertical movement of the mold container top along the axis from a closed position to an open position is translated into outward radial movement of the top and bottom tread segments away from the axis. The top and bottom tread segments mate when the mold is in the closed position in a plane which may be offset from the mold centerline. The top mold sidewall plate mates with the top tread segments and the bottom mold sidewall plate mates with the bottom tread segments at respective seating joints which limit inward radial movement of the top and bottom tread segments toward the axis. Pin assemblies for each tread segment limit outward radial movement of the tread segments away from the axis.

摘要: A high pressure valve for control of the injection of a sample into an analyzer system such as an amino acid analyzer with liquid column chromatography. The valve is designed in such a manner that no rinse solution that is used to cleanse the system after the injection of a particular sample will enter the liquid column. The valve operates in two positions and requires a minimum of movement between the two positions. In one position the valve allows for the injection of the sample into the liquid column. In the second position the valve allows for the entry of only a buffer solution into the liquid column and blocks the entry of any rinse solution that may flow through the system for cleansing after the injection of the sample. No residual rinse solution is allowed to remain within the valve prior to injection of either a sample or a buffer material into the liquid column.

摘要: A connector assembly for removably holding a glove where the glove has a glove attachment device connected thereto. The connector assembly includes a holder which is foldable at a fold position. A first permanent magnet is connected to one portion of the holder and a second permanent magnet is connected to another portion of the holder. A holder attachment device is connected to the holder. A portion of the holder is removably disposed in a pocket and another portion of the folder extends over a pocket flap and position so that the first and the second permanent magnets are magnetically connected to magnetically connect the holder to the pocket. The glove attachment device is removably connectable to the holder attachment device for removably connecting the glove to the holder.
