The first terminal is spaced apart from the second terminal by a first insulating distance, and the third terminal is spaced apart from the first or second terminals adjacent to the third terminal by a second insulating distance. Therefore, the sensed signal is independent of the output power, thereby increasing the sensing efficiency.

A field emission backlight for a display device includes upper and lower substrates. The upper substrate includes an upper transparent substrate, a transparent electrode, and a fluorescent part. The lower substrate includes a lower transparent substrate having a receiving groove, a first electrode part, a second electrode part, and an electron-emitting part. The first electrode part is formed on an upper surface of the lower transparent substrate and the second electrode part is formed on a bottom surface of the receiving groove, so that the gap between the first and second electrode parts can be reduced below that conventionally required. This, in turn, enables the level of a voltage applied between the first and the second electrode parts to be reduced, and a corresponding reduction in the manufacturing cost of a field emission backlight to be achieved.

Furthermore, each of the lamps may have a different amount of discharge gas injected thereinto due to the positions at which the lamps are disposed. Accordingly, the liquid crystal display apparatus may provide a uniform brightness, and prevent deterioration of display quality thereof.

A width of the via hole is smaller than a diameter of a conductive particle. Where the width of the via hole is larger than the diameter of the conductive particle, a depth of the via hole is smaller than the diameter of the conductive particle. Thus, a driving failure which may occur in the pad portion is prevented while maintaining a deformation ratio of the conductive particle at about 20˜60%, thereby enhancing a connecting force between the pad portion and a circuit substrate.
