摘要: Described are methods for analyzing an animal carcass, meat obtained therefrom, or product produced by or obtained from an animal for the presence or absence of faecal matter. The methods comprise analyzing an animal carcass, meat obtained therefrom, or product produced by or obtained from the animal for the presence or absence of a detectable marker, the presence of the detectable marker being indicative of the presence of faecal matter and the absence of the detectable marker being indicative of the absence of faecal matter, wherein the animal carcass, meat obtained therefrom, or product produced by or obtained from the animal has been obtained from an animal fed a composition comprising a supplement of the detectable marker and/or a precursor thereof. Also described are compositions for feeding to an animal and for use in the methods.

摘要: A magnetic heater is provided having a conductive member and a first magnet assembly comprising a frame and at least one magnet disposed a distance adjacent the conductive member, wherein the first magnet assembly and the first frame are adapted to rotate relative to each other about an axis so as to induce eddy currents in the conductive member when relative motion is produced between the conductive member and the first magnet assembly, the at least one magnet adapted to move relative to the frame in dependence on the change in the rate of rotation of the frame. The magnetic heater is provided with a passive relative-positioning actuator adapted to move one or more magnets in an axial direction and a radial direction relative to the frame. Such movement is exploited to control the magnetic field strength at the conductive member by controlling, among other things, the conductor/magnet spacing.

摘要: A winch assembly is designed so that it can be slidably supported on the side rail of a vehicle. The winch assembly has side walls and a top plate. Slots are formed between the top plate and the side walls. A first bar runs between the side walls at substantially the same elevation as the top plate. A second bar runs between the side walls at an elevation below that of the first bar. A space is formed between the top plate and the first and second bars. The vehicle has a side rail running there around on which the winch assembly is supported. The side rail has a U-shaped bottom piece and a U-shaped top piece which run around the vehicle side walls. A cross member runs between the opposite sides of the cargo compartment The side frame has a U-shaped bottom piece with an arm extending there from, this arm being fitted into a slot in the deck of the vehicle located between the deck and the cross member. The side frame has a U-shaped top piece which fits between the top plate of the winch and the sides of the winch. The winch assembly is thus slidably yet firmly supported on the floor of the vehicle for ready removal for repair and reinstallation.

摘要: A communication system comprises functionality for measuring call quality in connection with a user termination of a call. Specifically, a call quality estimator (119) comprises a termination processor (201) which determines a user call termination for a call. In response to the detection, a quality estimator (203) determines a termination call quality measure for a call quality at the user call termination. For example, an error rate in a time interval of duration between 10 seconds and 60 seconds before the detection of the call termination may be determined. A transmit controller (205) then transmits the termination call quality measure to a call quality processor (117). The call quality processor (117) may statistically process the termination call quality measures from a plurality of calls to evaluate performance of the cellular communication system. The correlation of the termination call quality measure with the user call termination provides for data which more accurately reflects the user perceived call quality.

摘要: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for selecting carriers to be measured by a subscriber unit (301,303, 501). The subscriber unit (301, 303, 501) is served by a communication system and is operable to measure carriers in a frequency band, which typically belongs to a different communication system. The appratus comprises a performance processor (329) for determining a measuring performance characteristic of the subscriber unit (301, 303, 501) related to the measurement performance of the subscriber unit (301, 303, 501) when measuring in the frequency band. The apparatus furthermore comprises a carrier subset selector (331) for selecting a subset of carriers in the frequency band to be measured by the subscriber unit. The subset of carriers is selected dependent on the measuring performance characteristic. The invention is applicable to dual 2nd and 3rd generation cellular communication systems such as GSM/UMTS.

摘要: A network adapter capable of adapting its transmission speed to that of another adapter of the same or slower speed so as to mix adapters of different speeds in the same communication network. In send mode, the adapter selects one of a plurality of transmission speeds based on the message header including a field specifying the message speed, which speed is known to be supported by the adapter at the addressed receive node. The sending adapter prefixes the message with a synchronization byte which defines transmission speed selected and transmits the message at the selected speed. In receive mode, the adapter decodes within one clock cycle the message speed from the message synchronization byte, and responsive thereto generates the clock for gating the receive message into adapter memory.
