摘要: A fiber tracking management system controls fibers clinging to an inkjet printhead in an inkjet printing mechanism, to stop these fibers from trailing across freshly printed wet ink and leaving unsightly fiber tracks. The system includes a sled which supports a fiber crushing member that contacts the printhead when the sled is in the servicing position and crushes fibers dangling from the printhead against the printhead. The printhead carriage has a datum which extends over the print zone and collects fibers from a wiper following printhead wiping. The system also has a fiber remover which removes fibers deposited along the exterior surface of the datum. The fiber remover may be a clutch actuator or other mechanism which plucks the fibers off the carriage, or a compressible pad which smashes the fibers and scrubs ink residue from the datum. A method of controlling fibers clinging to an inkjet printhead is also provided.

摘要: Techniques for device camera angle are described. In one or more implementations, a camera is mounted in a computing device at an angle based on an orientation of the computing device. For example, when the computing device is positioned on a surface and at an angle to the surface (such as when supported by a kickstand), the mounting angle of the camera is such that an optical axis of the camera points forward, and not towards the surface. In at least some implementations, a computing device includes a camera that is physically adjustable to support different orientations of the computing device. In at least some implementations, images that are captured via a camera on a computing device can be manipulated based on an orientation of the computing device.

摘要: In one embodiment, a printhead assembly includes: an ink reservoir; a printhead; a passage for carrying ink from the ink reservoir to the printhead; and a port from the passage to a source of air pressure. The port is operable between a closed position in which the passage is not pressurized with air and an open position in which the passage is exposed to pressurized air. In another embodiment, an ink supply includes: a reservoir for holding ink; a printhead; a standpipe connecting the reservoir and the printhead such that ink may flow from the reservoir to the printhead through the standpipe; and a valve operatively connected to the standpipe. The valve is operative between a first position in which the standpipe is pressurized with air and a second position in which of the standpipe is not pressurized with air.
