    摘要: Carbonate polymer compositions are prepared comprising a first diaryl fluorene carbonate polymer component and a second bisphenol A carbonate polymer component, the blend composition preferably comprising from about 1 to about 99 weight percent diaryl fluorene carbonate polymer component based on weight of first and second components. Preferably the first diaryl fluorene carbonate polymer component is a copolymer comprising (a) from about 1 up to and including about 99 mole percent dihydroxyaryl fluorene moiety based on the weight of dihydroxyaryl fluorene compound and additional multihydric monomer compound and (b) moieties of at least one additional condensation copolymerizable multihydric monomer compound remnant. In another embodiment, the invention is an improved process for preparing heat resistant diaryl fluorene carbonate polymer composition comprising the step of combining a first diaryl fluorene carbonate polymer component and a second bisphenol A carbonate polymer component, different from the diaryl fluorene carbonate polymer component. These blends can be prepared by known means such as by solution blending or melt blending. It has surprisingly been found that these blend compositions are miscible and transparent across a range of weight ratios and diaryl fluorene contents.

    摘要: The present invention is a low haze thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) comprising structural units of a diisocyanate; a diol and three different chain extenders (butanediol chain extender; a different linear diol co-chain-extender and a cyclic co-chain-ex-tender). The TPU has good combinations of light transmission and clarity, low temperature flexibility, and high moisture vapor transition rates compared to other commercial or known TPUs. The preferred composition is a TPU that is based on polycaprolactone as diol, MDI as the diisocyanate monomer, butanediol chain extender, 1,3 propanediol linear chain co-extender and cyclohexanedimethanol cyclic chain co-extenders, and has good clarity and tensile strength.

    摘要: The present invention is a blend of a polymeric hydrocarbon and a thermoplastic polyurethane which is compatibilized a polymeric hydrocarbon that contains low concentrations of isocyanate reactive group. The compatibilizer can be prepared by reacting a modified polymer having pendant or incorporated amine-reactive groups with a hydroxyl amine, a diamine, or a polyethermonoamine. The compatibilized blend may further include a non-TPU engineering thermoplastic to form compatible blends of the polymeric hydrocarbon and the non-TPU engineering thermoplastic. In this case, the TPU is used as a co-compatibilizer.
