摘要: A polyolefin-based composition made from or containing (A) a first polymer composition made from or containing a polyolefin grafted with an unsaturated monomer, (B) a second polymer composition made from or containing a polyethylene, and (C) a third polymer composition made from or containing (i) a first polyisobutylene and (ii) a second polyisobutylene. The first polyisobutylene has a Viscosity Average Molecular Weight (VAMW1), and the second polyisobutylene has a Viscosity Average Molecular Weight (VAMW2), wherein VAMW1≠VAMW2. The polyolefin-based composition is useful as an adhesives or a tie-layer adhesive composition for multi-layered structures. In particular, the composition is useful as an adhesive to bind a metal layer to a dissimilar substrate.

摘要: The present disclosure generally relates to ethylene alpha-olefin copolymers and methods of making ethylene alpha-olefin copolymers. The ethylene alpha-olefin copolymers may have a density of about 0.915 g/mL to about 0.918 g/mL, a rheological polydispersity index greater than 0.8, a melt index of about 0.4 dg/10 min to about 2.0 dg/10 min, and/or a CEF T50 of 84° C. or less. The ethylene alpha-olefin copolymers may be made by combining an ethylene monomer and one or more alpha-olefin monomers in the presence of a catalyst, such as a Ziegler-Natta catalyst.

摘要: The disclosure provides a process for modifying a polyolefin-based composition including the steps of: (A) selecting a first polyolefin-based composition made from or containing a first polyolefin-based maleic anhydride graft having a yellowness index and an amount of covalently-bonded maleic anhydride substituents available for hydrolysis; (B) introducing the first polyolefin-based composition into a mixing chamber; (C) admixing water into the mixing chamber to form a water-containing polyolefin-based composition; (D) heating and agitating the water-containing polyolefin-based composition; (E) reacting the water with at least some of the maleic anhydride substituents to form maleic acid substituents, thereby yielding a modified polyolefin-based maleic anhydride graft having a yellowness index lower than the yellowness index of the first polyolefin-based maleic anhydride graft; and (F) collecting the modified polyolefin-based maleic anhydride graft, thereby yielding a modified polyolefin-based composition. The process is useful for making improved polyolefin-based maleic anhydride grafts, let-down products, and adhesives or tie-layers.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a polyolefin-based composition made from or containing: (A) a first polymer composition made from or containing a high density polyethylene having a density greater than about 0.940 grams per cubic centimeter and a melt index greater than about 4 grams per 10 minutes, measured according to ASTM D 1238, using a piston load of 2.16 kg and at a temperature of 190 degrees Celsius, and (B) a first nucleator composition made from or containing a salt of 4-(4-chlorobenzoylamino) benzoate. The polyolefin-based composition is useful for making articles of manufacture for rigid applications, including low temperature, thin-walled applications.

摘要: This disclosure provides for compatibilizer compositions that are useful in compounding polypropylenes and ethylene elastomeric copolymers for injection molding applications. The compatibilizer includes a combination of: Component A of polypropylene homopolymers or polypropylene copolymers containing small amounts of ethylene; and Component B of propylene bipolymers with ethylene and/or other α-olefin comonomers, the bipolymer having a relatively high proportion of propylene moieties, for example, 50-75% propylene. Compared to known or conventional compatibilizer formulations, the bipolymer Component B is relatively propylene rich and generally can be used in the injection molding composition in lower concentrations.
