    Abstract: A dialysis system is disclosed. An example dialysis system includes a water treatment device configured to provide purified water and a dialysis machine including a dialysate holding tank, and a dialysate mixing pump connected to a source of concentrate. The dialysis machine is configured to prepare dialysate using the purified water by receiving an indication that a batch of dialysate is needed, transmitting a first message to the water treatment device to begin providing the purified water, and causing the dialysate mixing pump to pump a concentrate from the source of concentrate for mixing with the purified water to form the dialysate for storage in the dialysate holding tank. After the batch of the dialysate has been stored to the dialysate holding tank, the dialysis machine transmits a second message to the water treatment device to stop providing the purified water.

    Abstract: A water purification apparatus (1) comprising a Reverse Osmosis, RO, device (26). The RO device (26) comprises a RO membrane (26a) and a feed pump (23). The apparatus (1) also comprises a recirculation mechanism (33) arranged to recirculate a portion of the reject water to the feed water, a temperature sensor device arranged to measure a temperature indicative of the temperature of the RO membrane (26a), and a flow rate sensor device arranged to measure a flow rate indicative of the permeate flow rate of the permeate water. The apparatus (1) further comprises a control arrangement (50) configured to control recirculation to achieve a predetermined recovery ratio. The control arrangement (50) is also configured to control the rate of the feed pump (23), based on the measured temperature indicative of the temperature of the RO membrane (26a) and a desired permeate conductivity, to make the permeate flow rate equal to, or within a predetermined margin of, an energy efficient permeate flow rate determined based on a predetermined relation between RO membrane temperature, permeate flow rate and permeate conductivity. The disclosure also related to a corresponding method.

    Abstract: A peritoneal dialysis (“PD”) machine includes a fresh/regenerated PD fluid pump, a used PD fluid pump, a sorbent cartridge located fluidically between the fresh/regenerated PD fluid pump and the used P fluid pump, a degassing tank located fluidically downstream from the sorbent cartridge, at least one valve located fluidically upstream of the degassing tank, and a control unit configured to control the fresh/regenerated PD fluid pump and the used PD fluid pump, the control unit further figured to operate the at least one valve to select whether fresh PD fluid or regenerated PD fluid is pumped by the fresh/regenerated PD fluid pump to the degassing tank.
