Abstract:
A high temperature lifting pad comprising a body and a ring on said body made of elastomeric material. The ring has an exposed surface for contacting an article to be lifted and a layer of quartz cloth is bonded to said exposed surface.
Abstract:
A conveyor system comprising a plurality of wheeled trucks, each of which has a tow pin extending downwardly in a slot in a floor that defines a track and along which a conveyor is moved. A bumper on each truck is adapted to be actuated upon engagement with an obstacle to energize a transmitter on the truck and direct a signal to a receiver along the track which thereupon deenergizes the conveyor interrupting the movement of all of the carriers. A light on the truck whose bumper has been actuated indicates the truck that has engaged the obstacle.
Abstract:
A moving induction conveyor is targeted by a visual display for placement of articles thereon whereby the articles are deposited onto a receiving conveyor at proper locations. The visual display is synchronized with operation of the receiving conveyor through an optically controlled switching system to form a moving target.
Abstract:
A safety belt system using a bendable cable section having a self-sustaining shape and a flexible strap section. The cable section is fixed on one side of the seat for positioning at the side of the occupant of the seat. The flexible strap section is fixed at the other side of the seat for extending across the seat and the occupant. Fastening means connected to the free ends of the cable and belt are provided for attaching the end of the belt to the cable at the one side of the occupant.
Abstract:
A set-point assembly for use in monitoring a process variable and generating an input reference signal to a controller unit used for controlling the process variable. The set-point assembly includes a housing drum with a scale, a set-point device rotatably mounted within the drum and having a set pointer for cooperating with the scale, a meter movement unit disposed within the drum and having an indicating pointer cooperating with the scale, and a slide wire mechanism for generating a signal corresponding to the position of the set pointer along the scale.
Abstract:
A chain link having multiple layers joined together to form a composite laminated link. Each layer of the link has two J-shaped link plates joined together at their ends to form the various layers of the link with the joints between the link plates of each layer arranged in offset relationship with respect to each other, thereby minimizing cross-sectional variation in the strength of the link. A plurality of these links can be attached end to end to form a chain or combined with alternate links made of solid layers.
Abstract:
A power and free conveyor system including a power track along which a conveyor is movable and a load track along which carriers are movable. Each carrier comprises longitudinally spaced trolleys interconnected by a load bar pivoted thereto. A first guide bar is fixed to and extends laterally from at least one of the trolleys and a second guide bar is fixed to and extends laterally from the load bar. The first guide bar supports a second guide rail thereon which is engaged by the second guide bar. The first guide bar engages a guide rail along any portion of the track. In movement through a curved portion, the second guide bar is movable along the second guide rail to accommodate for the chordal movement of the load bar with respect to the arcuate movement of the trolleys of the carrier.
Abstract:
An accumulating roller conveyor system comprising a plurality of longitudinally spaced transversely extending article-carrying rollers which are yieldingly biased upwardly out of contact with a drivebelt. When articles engage the rollers, the weight of the articles forces the rollers downwardly into driving contact with the drivebelt. Sensing devices at longitudinally spaced points sense the interruption of movement of the articles along the article-carrying rollers and causes expansible chambers to be inflated to hold the rollers out of engagement with the drivebelt.
