摘要: A solid-state device chip including diodes (generating a higher or lower frequency output through frequency multiplication or mixing of the input frequency) and a novel on-chip diplexing design that allows combination of two or more multiplier or mixer structures operating at different frequency bands within the 50-5000 GHz range within a same chip and/or waveguide. The on-chip diplexing design consists of a single-substrate multiplier chip with two or more multiplying structures each one containing 2 or more Schottky diodes. The diodes in each structure are tuned to one portion of the target frequency band, resulting in the two or more structures working together as a whole as a large broadband multiplier or mixer. Thus, an increase in bandwidth from 10-15% (current state-of-the-art) to at least 40% is achieved. Depending on the target frequencies, each subset of diodes within the chip can be designed to work either as a doubler or a tripler.

摘要: A method and system provide the ability to estimate the vulnerability of a repairable infrastructure system. A survival curve is constructed for one or more assets. A rehabilitation plan is prescribed for one or more failure states of the repairable infrastructure system. A cost estimation model is constructed for costs associated with the repairs for each of the failure states. A planning basis is specified. A multiple probability simulation is conducted that estimates a potential restoration cost for a possible failure. The simulation is repeated to acquire a distribution of potential restoration costs. A vulnerability estimation is determined and provided based on the distribution.

摘要: An epitaxial lateral overgrowth (ELO) layer is grown on an opening area of a substrate, wherein the ELO layer is higher than a surface 5 of a trench in the substrate. The trench is apt to form a symmetric shape of the ELO layer, which renders it suitable for flip-chip bonding The shape of the ELO layer has a depressed surface region at a back side of a bar formed by the ELO layer. A cleaving point is located higher than the bottom of the ELO layer, so that a force can be efficiently applied to 10 the cleaving point for removing the bar.

摘要: Described here are patches and methods for measuring glucose in sweat (and tears and the like). In general, the patches comprise an adhesive layer adapted to bond to skin of an individual, a substrate layer disposed over the adhesive layer and comprising a glucose sensing complex including a chromogen that changes color in the presence of certain concentrations of glucose, and a cover. In typical embodiments, the substrate layer has elements formed to direct and accumulate sweat that migrates from the skin of the individual to the glucose sensing complex. Methods of using the invention can comprise cleaning the skin surface, collecting sweat in a patch comprising this microfluidic constellation of elements, and observing concentrations of glucose collected in the sweat, for example either visually, or by using a smartphone or other computer processing device.

摘要: A method, system, and article of manufacture provide for multi-user collaboration on a three-dimensional (3D) design. The 3D design is acquired in a computer-aided design (CAD) application. A commenting process for a comment to be associated with a selected part of the 3D design is activated. Textual user input for the comment is dynamically processed as the comment is received. The processing recognizes that the text relates to creating or modifying the selected part, retrieves a list of alternative parts (based on similarities between the alternative parts and the selected part), and displays a graphic representation of an alternative part. An alternative part is selected and inserted in the comment as a proposed replacement part. The comment including the proposed replacement part is provided to another user.

摘要: An apparatus, method and computer program product for estimating as-a-Service (aaS) query prices in a relational database management system (RDBMS). An optimizer of the RDBMS inserts an EXPLAIN modifier into a query, wherein the EXPLAIN modifier results in the optimizer generating a summary of a query execution plan for the query that includes one or more cost estimates for the RDBMS to perform the query. A price estimate for the query is then generated based on the cost estimates, wherein the price estimate is generated using one or more configurable pricing formulae. The price estimate is merged into the summary of the query execution plan for the query. Moreover, a price guarantee may be generated for the price estimate, wherein the price guarantee is honored when the query is subsequently invoked for execution by the RDBMS.

摘要: Control versioning of records in a temporal table is provided to reduce data redundancy. New Data Definition Language (DDL) syntax is provided to make individual columns within a table sensitive or insensitive to whether new row versions are generated when Database Manipulation Language (DML) statements operate on the table. The database parser and back-end data processors are configured to create the table with the user-defined versioning attributes and to manage versioning of the rows without requiring additional programming.
