An adjustable lumbar support system with independent lacer guides and a hinged portion. An adjustable lumbar support system having phase change material and/or removable stays. An adjustable lumbar support system having one or more panels, with or without perforations, to provide for improved adjustability for patient comfort and compliance. An adjustable lumbar support system having a pleated or quilted central portion.
Abstract:
The system and method for using flights and fasteners with compact-grid conveyor belts. The J-fasteners of rivet-type fasteners secure angled and vented metal flights to compact-grid conveyor belts. The fasteners attach a flight via embossed areas spaced to avoid guide and drive pulleys. Specially adapted sprockets are also used to accommodate the attachment of flights using fasteners.
Abstract:
A method of controlling a mobile work machine having a reversing gearbox. The driving direction reversal is initiated by detecting a driving direction reversal command. A change of the torque transmission from a current driving direction to a new driving direction is carried out as a powershift. Braking for the driving direction reversal occurs in a manner so as to recuperate energy. Furthermore, a device for controlling a mobile work machine, in particular for implementing the method, is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method of activating an electromagnetic actuator having at least one coil and a movable armature. The method includes the step in which the electromagnetic actuator is demagnetized by passing a sequence of electric current pulses with a current flow direction which alternates from one current pulse to the next and with a current size which decreases from one current pulse to the next, through the at least one coil, in order to reduce or eliminate any residual magnetic flux density in the electromagnetic actuator. The method also includes a step in which a position of the movable armature is determined, after the demagnetization step, by passing a measurement current pulse through the at least one coil.
Abstract:
A transmission having input and output shafts, shifting elements and planetary gearsets including sun and ring gears, planetary gearwheels and a carrier. The carrier of the first gearset is fixed to the input. The ring gear of the second gearset can be connected by a first shifting element to the housing and by a second shifting element to the carrier of the second gearset. The ring gear of the first gearset is fixed to the sun gear of the second gearset. The sun gear of the first gearset can be connected by a third shifting element to the housing, or is fixed to the sun gear of the second gearset and the ring gear of the first gearset can be connected by a third shifting element fixed to the housing. The shifting elements are arranged within the housing and accessible from outside the housing.
Abstract:
By means of the invention, a method and an apparatus (1) for the drying of goods, in particular for the convection drying of pastas, which are introduced from a first treatment zone (2) into a second treatment zone (3), are to be improved to the effect that the drying process has a lower energy consumption than conventional dryers and the surroundings of the dryer (1) are polluted only slightly by waste heat. Furthermore, the dryer (1) is to be designed in a structurally simple and cost-effective way. This object is achieved by means of a method for the drying of goods, in which the temperature in the first treatment zone (2) is on average lower than in the second treatment zone (3), and in which the energy obtained from the exhaust air of the first and/or the second treatment zone (2, 3) in at least one heat exchanger (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) is introduced into the first treatment zone (2).
Abstract:
The present method relates to a method of charging a traction battery of a vehicle from an external AC power supply system. The traction battery is coupled, via an inverter, to an electric alternating-field machine such that the AC power supply can be connected to the phase windings of the alternating-field machine. The method includes a step of synchronizing the rotational speed of the alternating-field machine with the frequency of the AC power supply. Then the AC power supply is connected to the phase windings of the alternating-field machine and the inverter, which is electrically coupled to the alternating-field machine, is operated as a step-up converter.
Abstract:
A control rod configuration for adjusting a position of a rotor blade of a helicopter. The control rod configuration includes a control rod which has a bearing eye, adjacent the swash plate, which is penetrated by an axle shaft which has a bearing supported by a bearing bracket. The control rod configuration, which can be simply constructed and is less susceptible to malfunction, has an eccentric with its pivotable bearing in the bearing bracket and which is provided between the bearing bracket and the bearing eye. In addition, a method in which a rotor blade of a helicopter has an assigned control rod which is supported by an axle shaft with a bearing in the bearing bracket which is mounted to the swash plate so as to enable adjustment of the control rod by pivoting the axle shaft during flight.
