摘要: An apparatus for automated safety data sheet (SDS) processing that translates the entire SDSs from numerous chemical vendors, and in various formats (.pdf, .doc, .txt, .jpg, .gif, .png, etc) to machine-encoded text by employing optical, RFID, and infrared scanning, reading and writing devices. The apparatus reads and assess documents as a human would; ensuring that the documents are compliant, ensuring reported values are within expected thresholds, and that there are no conflicts in hazardous material classification, and comparing to similar products for more environmentally friendly alternatives. The apparatus further employs a processor that computes meta-algorithms as trainable neural networks that allow the invention to “learn” and appropriately classify values and calculate statistical probabilities for output accuracy and precision.

摘要: The present invention discloses cured composites having improved surfaces and processes of making and methods of using same. Such processes use ultra-short pulse lasers, for example, a femto-second laser to ablate material without the detrimental heat affected zones of other laser processes. Such process can not only increases surface roughness and clean contaminates, but can also selectively remove the matrix material and expose the surface fibers of cured composites. The treated cured composites have improved thermal and electrical pathways that can dissipate unwanted heat and electricity when two or more prepregs and/or cured composites are bonded or cured to form a single article.

A peel and transfer process that disposes a first layer of boron nitride on said diamond substrate is provided. Such process yields heterostructures that having significantly improved mechanical and heat transfer properties. When such improved transistors and integrated circuits comprising such improved heterostructures are used in electronic devices, such devices are more efficient and can operate at higher frequencies.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method of enabling parity-time symmetric optical waveguides using liquids. Applicants provide a solution to the challenge of mass producing PT symmetric optical waveguide systems by introducing liquids that can be dynamically flown between optical waveguides. Using this method, evanescent wave coupling between optical waveguides can be achieved while having coupling gap dimensions that can be patterned using a standard photolithography process. Thus economic, rapid, and mass production of PT symmetric optical waveguide systems for a broad range of applications is disclosed.

摘要: A cover for the data ports disposed on opposite sides of a F-35 aircraft. The cover is macroscopically planar when not in use but flexible to conform to the curves on the sides of the F-35 airframe when the cover is attached. The cover is magnetically attached to three sides of a frame circumscribing air data port, but not attached on the forward side of the frame. This geometry provides for a covers which are symmetric and therefore usable with air data ports on both sides of the F-35 aircraft. The air data port cover does not have mechanical attachments or parts separable in use.

摘要: A tool box with vertically stacked monolithic trays. Each tray has pockets specifically shaped to receive complementary tools. The trays have upstanding cantilevered posts, which can space apart the superjacent tray. Alternatively, the posts can be received in complementary sockets of superjacent trays to prevent undue lateral movement while in the tool box. The post and socket geometry can be constructed to index the order in which trays are stacked and index how individual trays are oriented for optimal and sequenced access to the tools.

摘要: A system for solventless calibration of volatile or semi-volatile compounds and methods thereof. The system includes a fluid path having a first end configured to be operably coupled to a fluid source and a second end configured to be operably coupled to the analytical instrument. A solid sorbent is disposed along the fluid path and is configured to absorb an analyte. The flow of fluid along the fluid path from the first end to the second end causes absorbed analyte to be desorbed from the solid sorbent at a desired concentration to the instrument.

摘要: A projector includes a beam homogenizer receiving light from a light source and creating a predetermined illumination, and a spatial light modulator including grating stages to receive the predetermined illumination. Each grating stage may include a plurality of pixels where corresponding pixels in the grating stages are aligned with one another. Each of the pixels may include a liquid crystal layer disposed between two substrates, where a pixel is switchable by applying a voltage thereto, with a grating period of the pixel selected such that, when the voltage is applied to the pixel and light is passed therethrough, optical energy from the light in plus and minus first orders is deflected toward sides of the pixel and optical energy from a zero order of the light is allowed to pass through the pixel, with a polarization state of the light maintained through the pixel.

摘要: A family of low-molecular-weight, main-chain thermotropic liquid-crystalline polyimides (TLC-PI) that are crosslinkable is disclosed. These all-aromatic TLC-PI are derived from (i) wholly aromatic and flexible diamine monomers, in which the linkage between the two aniline-ends contains a relatively high heat-tolerant but flexible chain constituted by two or more units of 1,4-phenoxy or 1,3-phenoxy or in combinations of both. Processes of making and using such all-aromatic TLC-PI is also provided.
