    摘要: A method for treating animal skins, prior to tanning including contacting animal skins with an aqueous degreasing solution containing brine and an effective amount of a shrink inhibitor, the shrink inhibitor being(a) at least one hydroxyalkyl phosphine compound of the formula(HORPR.sub.n.sup.1 O.sub.m).sub.x X.sub.ywhereinR is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.24 alkyl or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.24 alkylene;R.sup.1 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.26 alkyl, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.24 alkenyl or ROH;X is an anion, whereby the hydroxyalkyl phosphine compound is at least sparingly soluble in water;x is a whole number equal to the valency of X;n=2 or 3 and m=0 or 1, whereby (n+m)=2 or 3;y=0 or 1, whereby (n+y)=2 or 4; or(b) a condensate of at least one of the compound (a), the condensate being at least sparingly water-soluble.

    摘要: Amorphous red phosphorus useful for matches, or as flame retardant is made by forming a slurry of 10-45% red phosphorus in molten white phosphorus, reducing the content of yellow phosphorus to less than 20% of the red phosphorus by separation at less than 280.degree. C., and then heating the product at above 295.degree. C. to convert, and preferably also evaporate, the white phosphorus.

    摘要: A process for the deposition of a film of an electrophoretic resin upon the surface of a substrate which comprises the steps of (i) electrophoretically depositing from a bath comprising water, a water miscible organic solvent and the resin, a film of the uncured resin upon the surface of the substrate; (ii) immersing said film in a solution of a resin additive in a solvent medium comprising water and a water miscible organic solvent, the amount of said resin additive dissolved in said solvent medium being sufficient for the absorption into the resin film of sufficient additive to impart the desired property to the cured resin film, the composition of said solvent medium being such that the requisite amount of additive can be dissolved therein and such that said desired property is imparted to said resin film while immersed in said solvent medium without significant damage to the resin fim; and (iii) curing the resin.
