摘要: Steam cylinders for humidifies require periodic replacement as well as replacement to address failures etc. However, field replacement of steam cylinders is not a straight-forward operation and there is significant risk and potential for damage to the replacement cylinder and the humidifier as fluidic seals for the water inlet and steam outlet must be unmade as well as electrical connections for heater elements, level sensors etc. Accordingly, embodiments of the invention provide solutions for the deployment of replacement cylinders etc. for domestic, retail, and commercial systems that reduce the likelihood of damage to the fluidic seals, electrical connectors etc.

摘要: A humidifier has a base and a housing. The housing has a steam exhaust vent and a vaporizer. The vaporizer includes a heating element surrounded by a removable porous sleeve that protrudes downwardly into water within a reservoir of the base. The sleeve wicks the water including its minerals and impurities into contact with the heating element wherein energization of the heating element causes the wicked water to convert to steam that rises through the exhaust vent and from the housing during a humidification mode.

摘要: Air gap insulation is a common means of providing thermal insulation from the environment. In many cases the air gap is heated by direct or indirect solar radiation, so ventilating this gap has a cooling effect. The invention cools this gap by integrating moisture-absorption material units that harvest water from the air during the night and provide evaporative cooling during the day. Compared to the ambient air, the daily relative humidity fluctuations in the air gap are more extreme, allowing a significant cooling effect. Furthermore, during the night, humidity absorption on the absorption unit reduces the risk of condensation within the air gap. Additionally the absorption process generates heat, and by using a controller processes of heating, cooling and dehumidifying can be activated when possible and needed.

摘要: With respect to atmospheric steam generating humidifiers, the present disclosure resolves the problem of end-users not adjusting the drain interval of the humidifier by using an electronic controller to automatically choose an appropriate drain interval without requiring any user input. The electronic controller accomplishes this by receiving input data from a sensor that measures a water quality parameter, automatically determining a drain interval based on the received data, and sending an output control signal to a drain water control valve to execute a drain event in accordance with the drain interval. In some examples, the electronic controller utilizes a look-up table correlating the water quality parameter to a total dissolved solids or cycles of concentration value.
