摘要: Circuitry is provided for distorting an audio signal, useful in providing a "dirty" sound to an electric guitar simulating a vacuum tube amplification thereof. The circuit includes components for simultaneously changing the amount of distortion introduced by a clipping circuit and the amount of gain boost provided at a preselected narrow bandwidth. Addition of such gain boost leads both to increased clipping of the audio signal and to reduced frequency response, at both low and high frequencies. A separate volume control is provided for broad band gain adjustment. Independently operable control switches permit insertion or elimination of the distortion, and insertion or elimination of a brightness circuit boosting high frequency response of the circuit.

摘要: A multiple-stage active RC distributed filter having multiple inputs and a single output for producing filtering of large groups of notes for tone coloration in electronic musical instruments. Output signals from the keying circuits may be applied to selected input stages of the filter through a resistor matrix to produce the desired tone coloration. Voicing may be further modified by one or more compensation networks at the filter output.

摘要: An electrical musical instrument amplifier is disclosed in which a signal which has been provided by an instrument to a second one of two different preamplifiers for amplification therein is passed to one of the inputs of a summing amplifier together with the output of the first preamplifier, the output of the summing amplifier being coupled through a tube driven power amplifier to a loudspeaker system. The amplified signal from the second preamplifier is applied to a second input of the summing amplifier via a circuit arranged as a voltage divider and having a variable resistance provided by a field effect transistor driven by an oscillator. The modulation provided by the field effect transistor and associated oscillator can be adjusted to provide total phase reversal as well as amplitude modulation when combined with the signal at the output of the second preamplifier, to provide a tremolo or vibrato effect. Improved reverberation control is provided by a control common to the volume controls of both a delayed reverberation signal from the second preamplifier and the combined signal which results when the instrument signal from the second preamplifier is combined with the delayed reverberation signal. The power amplifier can be operated in a distortion mode to achieve desirable harmonics without overloading the voice coils in an attached speaker system through use of a power supply which applies reduced voltages to the power amplifier whenever the gain of the power amplifier is adjusted to a high setting while at the same time regulating the voltage applied to the first and second preamplifiers to keep such voltage constant.

摘要: Systems and methods for providing accurate and independent control of reverberation properties are disclosed. In some embodiments, a system may include a reverberation processing system, a direct processing system, and a combiner. The reverberation processing system can include a reverb initial power (RIP) control system and a reverberator. The RIP control system can include a reverb initial gain (RIG) and a RIP corrector. The RIG can be configured to apply a RIG value to the input signal, and the RIP corrector can be configured to apply a RIP correction factor to the signal from the RIG. The reverberator can be configured to apply reverberation effects to the signal from the RIP control system. In some embodiments, one or more values and/or correction factors can be calculated and applied such that the signal output from a component in the reverberation processing system is normalized to a predetermined value (e.g., unity (1.0)).

摘要: An automatic defect detection method for detecting a defect in an object comprises: obtaining ultrasound scan data of the object, dividing echo amplitude values of the data into a plurality of sub-sets; assessing each sub-set to determine whether any echo amplitude values resulted from a structure of interest; computing for each sub-set, using at least a representative position of the structure portion of the sub-set and of a neighboring sub-set, a preselected mathematical function which is directly or inversely proportional to a distance between the representative positions; identifying sub-sets having a computed value that does not meet a predetermined criterion as regions of the ultrasound scan data that require inspection; issuing a notification indicating whether or not a region requiring inspection has been found; and if a region requiring inspection been found, storing data identifying the region in a database.
