摘要： The primary structural parts of the handle are two telescopic tubes, the smaller diameter tube being an extrusion. A rib on the smaller tube engages a notch in a fitting attached to the larger tube to prevent relative rotation of the tubes. A box footplate is pivotally attached to the free end of the larger tube, the axis of the pivot being perpendicular to the axis of the tubes. The footplate is connected by a connecting link to the end of a tube which slides longitudinally in the handle and fits through a clamp mechanism installed in the overlapped end of the smaller tube and is operated by a clamp mechanism operating assembly attached to the free end of the smaller tube. Operating a lever of that assembly engages the tube in the lock mechanism, preventing it from moving longitudinally and the footplate from pivoting on the handle. The length of the handle is manually adjustable and is set at a desired length by a lever operated lock assembly attached to the overlapped end of the larger tube.

摘要： A mud box includes a bottom surface with an outlet orifice, sides, a cover pivotally attached along one edge, and a handle attached to the cover for positioning the box on a surface and applying extruding pressure to the cover for ejecting material through the orifice. A spring assembly is attached to the box and connected to apply extruding pressure to the cover. A primary lock is coupled to the spring assembly and the box, the primary lock has a locked position in which the spring assembly is prevented from applying extruding pressure to the cover and an unlocked position in which the spring assembly applies extruding pressure to the cover. The primary lock is activated by a wheel assembly which moves it into the locked position when the box and wheel assembly are disengaged from a surface and which moves it into the unlocked position when the wheel assembly and box are engaged with a surface.

摘要： A trowel and related method of manufacture in which residual stresses are intentionally imposed upon the bottom working surface and/or the top mounting surface of a trowel blade. Stresses can be imposed, for example, by glass bead peening, shot peening, rolling, and/or brushing the metal trowel blade. Stresses are built up to a working stress level that remains substantially constant with further use of the trowel against abrasive, spreadable surfaces. Imposed stresses on the top and bottom surfaces can also be used to vary the resulting curvature of the blade.

A plastic handle is comprised of a durable inner core material and a grippable outer member. The handle's inner core includes deformable ribs which axially line the mounting hole and provide a secure, lash-free fit onto the mounting surface over a broader range of manufacturing tolerances for the parts. The handle also includes an endcap which cuts into and seals the endcap against an outer grippable material upon tightening of a flanged nut onto the mounting. A lip extends from the handle and encompasses a portion of the mounting to facilitate increased torque transfer from the handle to the mounting and blade. The replaceable handle can also be formed of other grippable materials such as wood.

摘要： A hand tool consisting of a flexible blade with a working edge is provided for use with a cementitious material to permit the forming and finishing of columns and other curved surfaces of relatively large radii. A pair of gripping surfaces are formed in the flexible blade, consisting of handles to which handgrips have been attached. To enhance the ability of the user to control the curvature of the working edge, the handgrips are attached to the handles in a manner such that a portion of the handgrip overlies and is supported by the outer, lateral portion of the handle. Such an arrangement permits the user to apply force through the handgrips directly to the outer periphery of the flexible blade.

摘要： An automatic dry wall applicator having an applicator head connected to a translucent body with a quick release mechanism for easy cleaning and a gas spring dispensing system which moves a piston head in the body to dispense dry wall compound. A loading mechanism uses a manual pump which generates sufficient force to overcome the gas spring pressure to force dry wall compound from a reservoir into the head and body to retract the piston head during loading. The piston rod engages a cam brake which frees the rod during loading and locks the piston head from dispensing unless the cam is manually released from the rod. In one form of the invention, an on-off valve closes the applicator head during loading and can be opened to permit dispensing of dry wall compound.

The spreader tool has a first portion positioned adjacent the front edge. The first portion is slightly bevelled downwardly with respect to a horizonal plane from a point positioned rearward of the front edge about 10% the length of the spreader to the front edge. A second portion is positioned adjacent the first portion. The second portion is bevelled upwardly with respect to the horizontal plane from a point positioned rearward of the front edge about 40% the length of the spreader to a point positioned rearward of the front edge about 10% the length of the spreader. A third portion is positioned adjacent the second portion. The third portion is bevelled downwardly with respect to the horizontal plane from a point positioned rearward of the front edge about 80% the length of the spreader to a point positioned rearward of the front edge about 40% the length of the spreader.
