    摘要： An offset connector subdivides a long, slender tool or implement handle. The offset connector may be provided with one or more unitary or replaceable grips. The additional grips serve as secondary or tertiary hand holds that enable more adaptable and capable ergonomic manipulation of the tool or implement. The offset connector is inserted intermediate between a primary handle grip and the tool or implement head, thereby subdividing the long slender tool or implement handle into at least two separate handle segments. Each handle segment is inserted into a handle segment receiver socket, and is affixed therein using a bolt, screw, or other fastener that is longitudinally co-axial with the longitudinal axis of the handle segment. Some embodiments establish fixed spacing between the primary handle, secondary handle, and implement. Other embodiments provide variable spacing therebetween.

    摘要： A gripping system for a handle has a cylindrical handle with a handle exterior surface. The system has a flexible gripping wrap with a plurality of outwardly protruding ridges and a plurality of inwardly protruding channels located on a wrap bottom surface. The gripping wrap has a first recessed ledge located on an intersection of a wrap top surface and a wrap second edge and a second recessed ledge located at an intersection of the wrap bottom surface and a wrap fourth edge. The gripping wrap is located on, and flexibly covers at least a portion of the handle exterior surface. The second recessed ledge is adapted to overlay, interface with, and attach to the first recessed ledge.

    摘要： The present invention relates to knives and related implements, and, more particularly, to methods and apparatus for attaching a handle to a tang of a knife. One aspect of the invention is for attaching a handle to a tang of a knife by removably coupling an insert having a threaded bore onto a portion of the tang, the insert being adapted to couple with a coupler, the coupler comprising a threaded rod and an expanded head, such as, but not limited to, a bolt. The engagement of the insert and the coupler pulls together the tang and the handle in removably coupling engagement.

    摘要： An implement having a handle, a tang, and a working portion is assembled by snapping the tang into the handle. The tang has prongs that snap into a locking structure within the handle. No attachment hardware such as rivets or adhesives are necessary to secure the tang to the handle. A method of securing the tang to the handle includes snapping the tang into the handle with no further installation steps required. In a preferred embodiment, the implement is a fixed blade knife having a blade with a tang and a sharpened end.

    摘要： A handle for use in conjunction with a trowel or other tool having a tang for joining with the handle. The handle is constructed of a pair of shell portions that mate together to form a handle body. Each of the shell portions have radially inward extending members, such as flat annular or washer-shaped members, that have central openings. The openings align when the shell portions are mated and receive the tool tang to lock the shell portions together. A series of spaced ribs on each shell portion mates with opposed ribs and with the tang to strengthen the handle body. The exterior of the body is covered with a two-part, generally resilient and comfortable grip or cover. The cover is formed by first injection molding a part of the cover on the body. Thereafter, the body is placed in a second mold to mold the second part of the cover. Both parts of the cover extend to the surface and provide a difference in color, durometer or both.

    摘要： An ergonomically adjustable handle for attachment to the body of a tool has a handle member with first and second ends with an axis between. Provision for attaching the first end of the handle to the tool body allows rotation of the handle about the axis through the attachment point. A pivot point is located on the axis of the handle member near the first end and permits deflection of the second end of the handle with respect to the first end. In addition, an outer layer portion of the handle member near the second end may be rotated about its axis to provide a comfortable position for the ellipsoidal cross section of the handle. Finally, clamping provisions at the articulation point and the two rotation mechanisms secure the handle in the desired position.
