    Abstract: There is shown a reformable handle (10) having an air pump (12), partially surrounded by a covering (13) so as to define a chamber (17) which contains a mass of filler material (18). The handle may be reformed into another configuration by a person firmly grasping the handle (10) so as to deform the covering (13) to conform with the person's grip and evacuating the air from within the chamber (17). The removal of air from within the chamber causes the covering to constrict about the filler material thereby locking the filler material in place. The handle may later be reconfigured by actuating a pressure release valve (44) which allows the return of air into the chamber. Once air is returned the filler material may be reconfigured and the pump actuated again to re-evacuate the chamber and once again reform the handle.

    Abstract: A garden tool includes a work-engaging head joined by a shank to a plastic handle. The handle has a relatively rigid plastic core body. A cavity is formed in the handle to divide it into forward and rearward portions. The cavity is filled with a flexible and resilient material to accommodate flexing of the rearward portion relative to the forward portion. A flexible and resilient gripping sheath covers the outer surface of the core body except for the cavity. In one embodiment the cavity is in the core body and includes a notch. For digging tools, such as trowels, the notch is formed on the lower side of the core body adjacent to the distal end, while for pulling or raking tools, such as plows, the notch is formed on the upper side of the core body adjacent to the working end. A recess may be formed in the core body opposite the notch for cooperation with the notch to define a narrow hinge. In another embodiment the cavity includes an aperture extending laterally through a lobe extension of the grip sheath, and in yet in another embodiment the cavity includes notches formed on upper and lower sides of the core body and defined by a hinge interconnecting the forward and rearward portions of the handle.

    Abstract: A plastic handle structure of a clamp tool, wherein, a hard plastic layer is provided on the two lateral edge areas of the bottom plate thereof with two lateral edge portions for a fitting-over portion, and the opening of the fitting-over portion per se is provided with two lateral edge portions, the top of the hard plastic layer is cut to open. A transversely directed die block for shaping the fitting-over portion fills soft plastic material in the lateral edge portions for the fitting-over portion, the lateral edge portions of the fitting-over opening and the top cut portion during a soft plastic layer enveloping process, enveloping and filling processes of the soft plastic layer are thus completed, and the structure of the fitting-over portion can be shaped. In the entire operation for the plastic handle, the hard plastic layer can be molded from an upper and a lower die in order to reduce the waiting time to do the enveloping process of the soft plastic layer. Inferior products of hard plastic layers can thus be reduced.

The overcoating is two-part having first and second external sections having at least one different characteristic. The first overcoating section is applied in a first mold and thereafter the resulting structure is placed in a second mold wherein molding material is flowed through a channel in the interior of said shell from an underside of the handle to an exterior surface of the shell. The first and second sections cooperate to produce a continuous overcoating having sections with different characteristics that are free from molding blemishes.

    Abstract: A carrying case for electronic equipment, such as a portable computer, includes back, front, top, bottom and side walls defining an interior including a compartment for receiving electronic equipment defined between a wall surface and a floating panel of the carrying case. The carrying case has a handle including first and second handle portions rotatable between an engaged position wherein the handle portions are in abutment and a disengaged position wherein the handle portions are separated from one another.
