A luminescent element includes a luminescent glass and a metal layer with a metal microstructure formed on a surface of the luminescent glass; wherein the luminescent glass has a chemical composition: aR2O.bZnO.cSiO2.nMnO2, wherein R represents the alkali metal element, a, b, c, and n are, by mole parts, 9.5˜40, 8˜40, 35˜70, and 0.01˜1, respectively. A preparation method of a luminescent element and a luminescence method are also provided. The luminescent element has good luminescence homogeneity, high luminescence efficiency, good luminescence stability and simple structure, and can be used in luminescent device with ultrahigh brightness.

A low pressure discharge lamp comprises a phosphor composition configured to provide a total light emission having characteristics within specified parameters, including color point above or substantially on the Planckian locus in the CIE standard chromaticity diagram; CCT of from about 2500 kelvin to about 3600 kelvin; general color rendering index Ra(8) of at least about 80; and special color rendering index R′a(14) of from about 72 to about 87. These novel lamps result in incandescent-like color quality while also having favorable efficacy. Also disclosed are phosphor blends which enable the achievement of such lamps.

Peak wavelengths of the emission spectrum of the first and second phosphors have a relation of complementary colors so that when the light created due to the peak wavelengths of the first and second phosphors are mixed, the resulting light is in the white region.

Provided are a phosphor paste composition, a flat display device including the same, and a method of manufacturing the flat display device. The phosphor paste composition contains a phosphor with at least a heat-resistant material selected from a Group II atom-containing material, a Group III atom-containing material, and a Group IV atom-containing material, a binder, and an organic solvent. By using the phosphor paste composition, the deterioration of the phosphor can be prevented during a heat treating process. The flat display device includes a phosphor layer containing the phosphor coated with the heat-resistant material such that lifetime of the flat display device is increased and a permanent residual image phenomenon, the adsorption of water by the phosphor, and the like can be prevented.
