Abstract:
A beverage container closure or lid that is adapted for closing an open end of a beverage container. The lid is selectively couplable to the beverage container and includes a selectively openable stopper that when closed, creates a fluid-tight seal between the beverage container and the environment. The stopper may be selectively opened by a user by the user pressing a button disposed on a side of the beverage container closure. The stopper is subsequently automatically closed when the user releases the button. Thus, a user may open and close the beverage container closure using a single hand without the need to remove the beverage container closure from the beverage container.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a spout for use with containers, particularly portable fuel containers (PFCs). The spout generally has a slide assembly physically coupled to a proximally positioned plunger such that the slide and plunger may be manually moved in tandem to variably control the flow rate of liquid or fuel through it. Movement of slide assembly in a distal direction opens the spout, whereas movement in a proximal direction closes the spout. The slide assembly may be in a recessed cavity on the top of the spout. The spout may have a main body portion and a nozzle portion, and a side exit opening at or near the distal end of the spout. Passageways within the spout are designed to encourage segregated and orderly flows of liquid/fuel and air for control and increased flow rate of liquid/fuel from the container. Methods of assembly and operation are also provided.
Abstract:
A valve for opening and closing a liquid vessel or pouch, which includes a valve body having a central axis, top and bottom sides arranged transversely with respect to the central axis, and a passage opening that extends through the valve body coaxially from the top side to the bottom side. A closure element can be pressed into the passage opening by a spring element coaxially with respect to the central axis from the underside such that the passage opening can be closed in a liquid-tight manner. The closure element includes a first sealing lip which can be pressed into the passage opening with an interference fit P1 and, axially behind said first sealing lip, a second sealing lip, which can be pressed into the passage opening with an interference fit P2, wherein P2 is a stronger interference fit than P1.
Abstract:
A fluid dispensing vessel is described and which includes a container body for enclosing a fluid to be dispensed, and a removable lid having first and second portions which move one relative to the other, and wherein when the second portion of the lid is in a first position, fluid may not be dispensed from the container body, and when located in the second position, fluid may be dispensed from the container body, and wherein a latch is provided which releases the second portion of the removable lid from the first portion for travel to a second position to allow the dispensing of fluid.

Abstract:
A lyophilization device configured for use in a lyophilization process has a body defining a chamber for receiving a liquid to be lyophilized, and a stopper creating a liquid-tight seal between the chamber and ambient atmosphere to form a sealed, empty sterile chamber. The stopper is adapted so that the chamber may be sterile filled with the substance through the stopper. A fluid passageway is formed through the stopper, through which the chamber is evacuated. The substance is lyophilized, the fluid passageway is closed, and the lyophilized substance is hermetically sealed within the chamber.

Abstract:
A cosmetic applying device includes a soft tube with an end member connected to the open end of the soft tube in which fluid cosmetic material is received. The end member has two through holes in the closed end and an engaging portion extending from an inner end of the closed end. A core piece has an end inserted into the end member and an applying head extends through a passage in the core piece. A cap is threadedly connected to the soft tube to protect the applying head. When the cap is connected to the soft tube, the passage of the core piece is sealed by the engaging portion to prevent air and cosmetic material from entering the soft tube. When the cap is removed from the soft tube, the core piece is moved and the engaging portion is disengaged from the passage.
Abstract:
A bulk feed adapter cap for a collection container comprises: (a) a housing defining both at least one fluid-communication opening and one or more air-release openings and (b) a membrane defining an annular, self-sealing fluid-valve for sealing said fluid-communication opening, where the fluid-valve defines at least one aperture. The bulk feed adapter cap may further comprise at least one fluid-communication cap.
Abstract:
An applicator for applying a liquid composition to a work surface. The applicator includes a bottle, a cap detachably mounted on a neck projecting from the bottle and a cover that extends over the cap and an upper portion of the bottle. The cap has and inclined surface with a multi-layer polishing pad mounted thereon. The pad has a cloth outer layer overlying a compressible, preferably foam, under layer. The pad has a central aperture exposing the end of a valve stem. Pressing the pad against the work surface opens a normally closed valve dispensing the liquid in the bottle onto work surface. The valve stem moves reciprocally along a path generally perpendicular an inclined surface on the cap on which the pad is mounted.
