摘要: A 3-dimensional printed structure, and a system and method for the 3-dimensional printing of structures is disclosed, including a structure comprising a plurality of sides comprising the following: a bottom, a top, a left wall and a right wall each constructed using a 3D printing process. The structure is 3D printed by initially printing a continuous rear end surface associated with each of the bottom, the top, the left wall and the right wall and thereafter the 3D printing process additively depositing material in a continuous bead to build up the initially deposited material to further construct the bottom, the top, the left wall and the right wall to complete the 3-D printing of the structure. The 3-D printing process finally deposits the material to form a monolithic and continuous front end surface associated with each of the bottom, the top, the left wall, and the right wall, wherein the 3-D printed structure is rotated to rest on the bottom upon completion of the 3D printing process.

摘要: A system that uses a scalable array of individually controllable laser beams that are generated by a fiber array system to process materials into an object. The adaptive control of individual beams may include beam power, focal spot width, centroid position, scanning orientation, amplitude and frequency, of individual beams. Laser beam micro scanner modules (MSMs) are arranged into 2D arrays or matrices. During operation of the MSMs, a fiber tip that projects the laser beam is displaced along the x and y-axis in order to scan the focal spot. Each MSM within a matrix can process a corresponding cell (e.g., one square centimeter) during focal spot scanning, and the plurality of MSMs may be operated in parallel to process a plurality of corresponding cells (e.g., with a 10×10 matrix of MSM, 100 cm2) without rastering or otherwise repositioning the assembly over the build surface.

摘要: An additive manufacturing method is disclosed in which an extrusion material is applied to a printing surface by a printhead in a plurality of layers arranged one on top of another along a z-axis, and relative movements in an x-axis and/or a y-axis of an x,y-axis plane extending perpendicular to the z-axis are performed between the printhead and the printing surface during the application. The method includes varying the swath width of the extrusion material extruded through one or more extrusion apertures of the printhead on the printing surface or one of the layers disposed thereon in response to the movement direction. Further disclosed are an associated computer-implemented method for 3D printing, associated 3D printheads, and an associated 3D printing apparatus.

摘要: A 3D printer includes a gantry configured to move in a plane and in a direction substantially normal to the plane and at least one print head carried by the gantry, the at least on print head comprising an extrusion nozzle at a bottom end. The 3D printer includes a plurality of partitioned chambers accessible by the at least one print head, each of the partitioned chambers having an upper edge defining an opening into each of the plurality of chambers, and a platen within a first chamber of the plurality of chambers, the platen configured to receive material from the print head to print the 3D part. The at least one print head is configured to be moved between each of the plurality of partitioned chambers by raising the print head in the direction substantially normal to the plane such that the extrusion nozzle is above the upper edge of the plurality of chambers, moving the print head in the plane from a first location above the first chamber of the plurality of partitioned chambers to a second location above a second chamber of the plurality of partitioned chambers and lowering the at least one print head into the second chamber.

摘要: A method of printing a cellular solid (120) by direct bubble writing comprises introducing an ink formulation (102) comprising a polymerizable monomer and a gas (104) into a nozzle (106), which includes a core flow channel (108) radially surrounded by an outer flow channel (110). The ink formulation is directed into the outer flow channel (110) and the gas is directed into the core flow channel (108). The ink formulation (102) and the gas (104) are ejected out of the nozzle (106) as a stream of bubbles (112), where each bubble includes a core (114) comprising the gas and a liquid shell (116) overlying the core that comprises the ink formulation. After ejection, the polymerizable monomer is polymerized to form a solid polymeric shell (118) from the liquid shell (116), and the bubbles are deposited on a substrate (122) moving relative to the nozzle (106). Thus, a polymeric cellular solid (120) having a predetermined geometry is printed.
