Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may establish a unicast connection over a sidelink communications with a second UE. To establish the unicast connection over the sidelink, the first UE may transmit a request message (e.g., a first message) to the second UE, and the second UE may transmit a response message (e.g., a second message) to the first UE accepting the request. The unicast connection over the sidelink may then be established between the first UE and the second UE, and user data may then be transmitted over the sidelink on the established unicast connection. Additionally, the first UE may transmit a connection complete message (e.g., a third message) to the second UE indicating that the unicast connection has been established. The request message, the response message, and the connection complete message may be radio resource control (RRC) messages.

A first user equipment (UE) determines a discontinuous operation configuration that indicates an on-duration period for a sidelink communication and a cycle of discontinuous operation. The first UE communicates with at least one other UE during the on-duration period indicated by the discontinuous operation configuration. The first UE uses a base configuration and an on-duration parameter, an offset parameter, and a cycle parameter to determine a discontinuous operation configuration for the first UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, a wireless device may support multi-band joint communication and radar (JCR) techniques. In some cases, a first wireless device may transmit, to a second wireless device, a capability message indicating whether a set of bands supports JCR operations. The second wireless device may transmit control signaling, based on the capability message, indicating a set of parameters for JCR operations including resources allocated for JCR operations. The first wireless device may transmit a JCR signal based on the control signaling via the allocated resources. For example, the first wireless device may transmit the signal for both communications and radar sensing in accordance with the set of parameters via the allocated resources.

A first device may transmit an indication to initiate a ranging procedure with a second device, and in response to the indication, the second device may transmit signaling to the first device and to one or more third devices. The first device and the one or more third devices may each determine a respective location metric associated with the second device based on the signaling. The one or more third devices may each transmit, to the first device, the respective location metric. Based on the communicated location metric(s), the first device may determine whether an eavesdropper is present and may communicate with the second device based on the determination.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for determining a Zone identifier (ID), Zone Center, and negative acknowledgement (NACK) ranges. Included are operations and means at a receiving user equipment (UE) to determine a current geographic location (GLL) of the receiving UE, and select a Zone ID based on a two-dimensional (2-D) lookup into an indexed array with the current GLL, the indexed array storing Zone data for one or more geographic Zones. The Zone data for each geographic Zone may be indexed according to geographic position, and include a Zone ID, Zone center, and one or more NACK ranges, each NACK range corresponding with a geographic Zone disposed about the geographic Zone corresponding to the Zone ID. Operations further include performing a NACK operation based on the selected Zone ID and a NACK range.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support vehicle alerting, such as in autonomous driving networks. Vehicle alerting may provide messages alerting other vehicles and/or network components to instances of autonomous driving disengagement. A vehicle operating according to an autonomous vehicle (AV) mode may transmit an over-the-air message to one or more other devices, such as nodes of an autonomous driving network, to alert the one or more devices to the vehicle disengaging the AV mode. A device receiving an autonomous disengagement message may alter one or more autonomous operation aspects in response to the over-the-air message.
