Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may perform an advanced inter radio access technology (IRAT) measurement of a target cell when the UE transitions from an idle state to a connected state of a serving cell to reduce delay. In such instances, the UE compares the serving cell signal metric to a threshold. The advanced measurement may be performed when the serving cell signal metric, e.g., serving cell received signal code power (RSCP), is below the threshold.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) measures a first measurement on a first serving cell or a first serving beam using at least one of a first receiver or a first measurement configuration with higher gain and power consumption. The UE measures a second measurement on one or more neighbor cells or one or more non-serving beams using at least one of a second receiver or a second measurement configuration with lower gain and power consumption, the second receiver being different than the first receiver or the second measurement configuration being different than the first measurement configuration. The UE transmits a measurement report to a network node based on the first measurement and the second measurement, selects a second serving cell or second serving beam based on the first measurement and the second measurement based on a rank, or ranks cells or beams based on the first measurement and the second measurement.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for dynamic rate matching patterns for spectrum sharing are described. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may measure one or more interference levels associated with resources of a physical resource block (e.g., interference levels associated with respective subcarriers or other division in the frequency domain, with respective symbol durations or other division in the time domain, or a combination thereof), and determine a rate matching pattern based on the interference level measurements. In some examples, the rate matching pattern may include a pattern of resources for communications between the UE and a base station (e.g., for downlink communications). The UE may transmit an indication of the rate matching pattern to the base station, and the base station may schedule or transmit one or more subsequent downlink transmissions based at least in part on the indication of the rate matching pattern received from the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a feedback error configuration indicating an error threshold associated with a feedback error type of a set of feedback error types, and a time window for feedback error detection per frequency band combination. The UE may detect one or multiple feedback errors for the feedback error type within the time window, and determine that a number of the one or multiple feedback errors for the feedback error type exceeds the error threshold. The UE may transmit a feedback error indication based on the determination that the number of the detected one or multiple feedback errors exceeds the error threshold. The feedback error indication may include an indication of the one or multiple feedback errors and the feedback error type associated with the one or multiple feedback errors.

Abstract: Aspects relate to methods and apparatus for dedicated bearer (DB) establishment handling during call setup for long term evolution. According to aspects, a method is provided herein for wireless communications that may be performed, for example, by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes establishing a connection with a first access point (AP) to perform a call set up procedure for a call; receiving from the first AP a message associated with handover to a second AP; delaying giving up the call setup procedure for a duration if the message includes or is associated with an indication to release a dedicated bearer; and allowing establishment of a DB with the second AP during the duration. Consequently, the DB can be established with the second AP, without the UE giving up the call setup, and the call can be performed, thus improving user experience. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may detect a high speed mobility condition and a directionality of movement based on signal measurements, such as location or Doppler measurements. The UE may adjust a measurement reporting process (e.g., a time-to-trigger (TTT) parameter, a signal quality metric, a measurement reporting delay, etc.) based on the high speed mobility condition and the directionality of movement. If the UE detects the high speed mobility condition, the UE may add the physical cell identifier (PCI) of the serving cell to a list of recent serving cells. If a neighboring cell is also on the list of recent serving cells, the UE may adjust a measurement reporting process, which may affect whether the UE is directed to perform handover to the neighboring cell based on whether the neighboring cell is on the list of recent serving cells or not.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) prevents re-transmissions of downlink high-speed data during a tune away procedure when an acknowledgment (ACK) to the high-speed data is not received at a network. In one instance, the UE decodes a first high-speed grant and corresponding downlink high-speed data before tuning away from a serving base station. The UE determines that a first timing for transmitting an acknowledgement of the decoded high-speed downlink data occurs during a tune away gap. The UE determines a second time for sending the acknowledgment based on a determination of a second high-speed grant missed during the tune away gap. The UE transmits an acknowledgement (ACK) for the decoded downlink high-speed data in accordance with a time line of the missed second high-speed grant.
