摘要: A receiver includes a receiver circuit that decodes multiple signals of interest contained in a composite receive signal. The receiver comprises at least one Generalized RAKE combining circuit and a joint demodulation circuit and generates a detected signal at an output. The joint demodulation circuit contains a reduced search soft value generator circuit and generates soft bit values that represent coded bits received from the transmitter.

摘要: A mobile phone is described herein that has control (or at least partial control) over which virtual antenna(s) in one or more base stations should be used for transmissions. In one embodiment, the mobile phone performs the following steps: (1) receives an antenna subset list (from the scheduling unit) which identifies a configuration of virtual antennas that is associated with the base station(s); (2) uses the antenna subset list to select which virtual antenna(s) in the configuration of virtual antennas should be used for transmissions; and (3) sends an antenna selection signal (to the scheduling unit) which contains information that instructs/requests the base station(s)/scheduling unit to use the selected virtual antenna(s) for transmissions.

摘要: A method to remotely determine a location of a mobile unit without intervention by a user of the mobile unit is provided. The mobile unit may receive a location query, download location data from a GPS, and transmit the location data via a wireless telecommunications network. For example, a call center may initiate a location query using a voice channel call to the mobile unit. In addition, the mobile unit may select a mode of communication from a number of alternative modes of digital wireless communication based upon a determined characteristic of the transmission mode. By way of example, the determined characteristic could be a transmission speed, cost of transmission, or signal strength of the selected communication mode. Furthermore, the unit may be a battery pack or other accessory device attachable to a wireless telephone handset.

摘要: The present invention relates to cardiac hypertrophy. More particularly, the present invention defines the molecular events linking calcium stimulation to cardiac hypertrophy. More specifically, the present invention shows that Ca++ stimulation of the hypertrophic response is mediated through NF-AT3. Thus, the present invention provides methods of treating cardiac hypertrophy as well as transgenic constructs for preparing transgenic animals. Further provided are methods of using the transgenic animals of the present invention, or cells isolated therefrom, for the detection of compounds having therapeutic activity toward cardiac hypertrophy.

摘要: A receiver includes a receiver circuit that decodes multiple signals of interest contained in a composite received signal. The receiver comprises a plurality of successive signal detection stages to detect respective signals contained in the composite received signal. Each detection circuit comprises at least one Generalized RAKE combining circuit and generates a detected signal at an output. Each but the last stage further comprises a signal regeneration circuit that cancels the signal of interest detected by that stage from a stage input signal provided to the next stage such that successive detection of the signals of interest benefits from cumulative cancellation of the previously detected signals.

摘要: A base station schedules one of a plurality of mobile terminals based on an expected SIR of an effective traffic channel associated with a non-scheduled mobile terminal. The expected SIR is generated by computing the expected SIR of a hypothesized traffic channel with a pre-filter adapted to the non-scheduled mobile terminal that would result if the non-scheduled mobile terminal was scheduled. A base station then schedules transmissions to the plurality of mobile terminals based on the computed expected SIR. The expected SIR may be computed so as to compensate for mismatch between the hypothesized traffic channel and a pilot channel associated with the non-scheduled mobile terminal. Alternatively, the expected SIR may be directly computed based on an estimate of the pre-filter of the hypothesized traffic channel.
