Abstract:
A thermoplastic resin composition comprising a blend obtainable by blending 0.1 to 99% by weight of (a) a fluorine-containing polymer having a number-average molecular weight of 2000 to 1000000 and having hydroxy group or epoxy group at least at one of end portions of a main chain and side chain of the polymer, and 1 to 99.9% by weight of (b) a heat resisting thermoplastic resin having a crystalline melting point or glass transition temperature of not less than 150.degree. C. The present invention can provide a composition comprising various heat resisting thermoplastic resins and a fluorine-containing polymer having a functional group which is capable of developing an affinity with said resins and forming a uniform dispersion.
Abstract:
A blend of at least one fluorine polymer, at least one oxidized polyarylene sulfide, at least one polyarylene sulfide and, if required, conventional additives results in a reduction in the expulsion of the oxidized polyarylene sulfides in gaseous form in the production of shaped articles from this blend, so that no cracks occur in the shaped article and problem-free processing by a cutting method is permitted.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire having an air permeation prevention layer composed of a thin film of a resin composition including at least 20% by weight of a thermoplastic polyester elastomer comprised of a block copolymer of polybutylene terephthalate and polyoxyalkylene diimide diacid at a weight ratio of polybutylene terephthalate/polyoxyalkylene diimide diacid of 85/15 or less.
Abstract:
Expandable rubber-modified styrene resin beads, expanded rubber-modified styrene resin beads, and expanded molded rubber-modified styrene resin articles are described. The expandable beads comprise a rubber-modified styrene resin comprising a styrene resin having dispersed therein 8 to 15% by weight of conjugated diene rubber particles having a 1,4-cis structure in a proportion of not less than 70% and an average particle size of 1.5 to 3.0 .mu.m, the rubber-modified styrene resin having a mineral oil content of not more than 3.0% by weight, and the expandable rubber-modified styrene resin beads containing 1 to 15% by weight of a volatile blowing agent. The expanded molded article has excellent appearance, impact resistance and softness.
Abstract:
Improved compositions are provided which comprise a poly(phenylene ether) resin, a poly(arylene sulfide) resin, a polyester resin, and a compatibilizer compound. The compositions can further comprise functionalizing agents, impact modifiers, flame retardants, and reinforcing fillers to provide compositions that exhibit improved tensile strength and elongation characteristics. Articles molded from these compositions are useful in the electrical connector industry.
Abstract:
A dispenser for pharmaceutical solutions which includes membranes which are placed in a dropper of the dispenser and are used to achieve the flow of essentially all the active product and the retention of essentially all the preservative during pharmacological treatment. The membrane is coupled between two cylinder units on parts of the dropper, which remain in a relatively movable position, owing to the existence of a certain play between the cylinder units; or the cylinder units may be in a relatively fixed position, owing to the lack of such play. The cylinder unit may also be in a fixed position but with a membrane treated adequately so as to have a small area or "stain" that permits the flow of air.
Abstract:
A resin composition prepared by melting and kneading (A) a thermoplastic resin comprising a polyolefin resin together with (B) a functional compound having one or more bond(s) or one or more functional group(s) selected from the group consisting of non-aromatic carbon-carbon multiple bonds, oxirane groups and substituted carboxyl groups, and subsequently mixing thereinto (C) a polar compound having in one molecule one or more polar group(s) selected from the group consisting of substituted carboxyl groups, substituted hydroxyl groups, substituted amino groups, substituted mercapto groups, substituted sulfonic acid groups, oxazoline groups, isocyanato groups and oxirane groups, provided that at least one of the polar groups of (C) is different from at least one of the functional groups of the functional compound (B), as well as a process for producing said resin composition.
Abstract:
Thermoplastic resin compositions comprising in admixture a poly(phenylene ether) resin and a poly(arylene sulfide) resin are provided. The poly(phenylene ether) resin comprises an ortho ester moiety which enhances the compatibility and mechanical properties of the composition. The compositions may optionally comprise impact modifiers and other additives. The compositions are useful for making molded articles.
Abstract:
A substantially non-slip, non-abrasive surface which includes a layer of a coating vehicle comprising a polysulfide mixed with a plurality of solid elastomer particles. The particles are preferably at least partially embedded in the coating composition to provide a surface which maintains tractional sufficiency in wet and dry environments such as swimming pools and related areas.
