    摘要: A railroad crossing gate drive mechanism has an adjustable gate arm support in the form of a split hub mounted on the external portion of a drive shaft. A fixed section of the split hub is keyed to the drive shaft and has threaded bolt holes therein. A moveable section of the split hub mounts a gate arm connector and has arcuate slots cut on the same bolt circle as the fixed section's bolt holes. Cap screws extend through the arcuate slots and into the bolt holes. The horizontal position of the gate arm connector can be adjusted due to the loose fit afforded by the arcuate slots on the cap screws. When the gate arm connector is located in the desired horizontal position, the cap screws are tightened to lock the split hub sections together.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for indicating whether a coupler of a locomotive is in a coupled or uncoupled state is provided. The apparatus comprising: a sensor positioned on a portion of the coupler, wherein the sensor provides a real-time signal indicative of either a coupled or an uncoupled state of a coupler, wherein the signal is transmitted wirelessly by a transmitter in operable communication with the sensor. The method comprising: providing a signal indicative of the presence or proximity of a second coupler to the first coupler, the signal being provided by a sensor configured to provide the signal as the state of the coupler has changed; transmitting the signal wirelessly to a controller; processing the signal with a control algorithm resident upon the controller; and providing visually perceivable indication of the position of the coupler.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for use with a railroad dragging equipment detecting (DED) system that detects objects hanging from and dragged beneath a train as the train travels along rails of a railroad track. A generator supplies a first signal and is coupled to a magnetic amplifier coil to form a magnetically variable impedance circuit. The magnetic amplifier coil is responsive to the first signal to create a circuit impedance in series with a detection circuit. A magnet is mechanically connected to the cam/follower system and is positioned near the magnetic amplifier core for varying a circuit impedance of the detection circuit. A detection circuit generates a second signal as a function of variations in circuit impedance. A controller is responsive to the second signal for activating an alarm when the magnet moves relative to the magnetic amplifier coil.

    摘要: An automated terminal test system performs a terminal test of brake equipment on a train. The system includes a test control box connected to a head of train locomotive and accessible from outside of such locomotive. Linked to such brake equipment, the test control box has a control for activating the test control box, applying and releasing the brakes, and charging and venting such brake pipe. The system also includes an end of train transceiver device connected to such brake pipe on a last railcar of such train. The end of train transceiver device monitors pressure within such brake pipe on such last railcar, senses movement of such last railcar, and communicates signals representative of such pressure monitored and such movement sensed. The system further includes a head of train transceiver device linked to such brake equipment and connected to such brake pipe on such locomotive. The head of train transceiver device monitors pressure within such brake pipe on such locomotive and transmits to such brake equipment the resulting head of train brake pipe pressure. The head of train transceiver device also relays to such brake equipment such last railcar brake pipe pressure data and such last railcar motion data both received from the end of train transceiver device. Through appropriate manipulation of the control, a railyard worker can apply and release the brakes automatically and charge and vent such brake pipe automatically from outside such cab of such locomotive during such terminal test.
