    Abstract: Based on pyrotechnic launch tubes (1) with a cylindrical body which houses in their interior both the pyrotechnic objects or materials (3) and the lifting powder (5), the system consists in providing each cylinder (1), on its lower base, with a series of tabs (6), determining a radially deformable neck, wherein said tabs (6) are finished in barbs (7) for engagement by pressure in a securing piece (11–11′), fastenable to the frame of the tubes or incorporated by way of a single piece in the actual frame, provided with an external and rigid neck with a gradation (14) for the engagement of the barbs (7) and provided with an axial and cylindrical core (10) which, perforating the bottom of the cylinder (1), is of a size to house in its interior the igniter (12) with its corresponding cable (13), which is thereby perfectly protected from possible environmental humidity.

    Abstract: Barrel assembly (10) includes rifled barrel (11) loaded with several pyrotechnic projectiles (12) for selective firing by an electronically controlled system. Each projectile (12) includes body (14), housing (15) containing pyrotechnic material (16), and trailing collar (17) supported on trailing hub (18) of body (14) for limited axial movement. Collar (17) includes leading wall (20) abutting trailing wall (21) of housing (15) and an internally tapered thickened rear part (24) engaging nose (25) of trailing projectile (12) to wedge into sealing engagement with barrel (11). Hub (18) supports propellant capsule (30) connected by electrical leads (31) to contacts (32) on outer cylindrical wall (33) of housing (12). Complementary contacts (34) are supported in barrel (11). Alignment of contacts (34) with contacts (32) occurs during the loading process. Fuse (35) extends between capsule (30) and primer (36) so that material (16) explodes a set time after firing projectile (12) from barrel (11).

    Abstract: A plurality of magazines each receive an array of pyrotechnic devices. The magazines are latched to a fire control and support assembly which automatically engages the fire control circuit to each device of each magazine. The circuit ignites all devices of all the magazines in a given serial sequence. The system, under control of an operator, when turned off, may be restarted at the beginning of a selected sequence, at the point where the last device was ignited and continue the sequence or at selected different portions of devices. Different size devices can be ignited by one circuit using different magazines all coupled to one unit. Safety features also include delay ignition after startup and sounding an alarm before any device is ignited. A CPU is enabled by a fire command signal and disabled by internal programmed instructions. The CPU is periodically enabled in a device ignition cycle by external timing signals initiated by the CPU when enabled.

    Abstract: An apparatus for producing a smoke trail as an acquisition aid to operators of aircraft tracking cameras and tracking radar. A visually detectable trace is produced which enables the tracking operators to locate aircraft that they are required to track for data.
