摘要: An automatic vehicle head lamp dimming system which includes an optical system and an imaging processing system. The optical system is configured to discriminate between head lamps and tail lamps and focus the light rays from the head lamps and tail lamps on different portions of a pixel sensor array. The optical system as well as the image processing system provides for relatively increased discrimination of head lamps and tail lamps of other vehicles and also enables the high beam head lamps of the control vehicle to be controlled as a function of the distance as well as horizontal angular position of other vehicles relative to the controlled vehicle.

摘要: A control system for controlling an image array sensor and controlling communication between the image array sensor and a microcontroller by way of a serial communication interface. The control system is able to efficiently control various aspects of the image array sensor such as windowing, mode of operation, sensitivity as well as other parameters in order to reduce the data throughput. An important aspect of the invention relates to the fact that the control circuit can be rather easily and efficiently configured in CMOS with rerlatively few output pins which enables the control circuit to be rather easily and efficiently intergrated with CMOS based image array sensors and even the microcontroller to reduce the part count and thus, the overall cost of the system.

摘要: A system may have lights. The lights may be moved using a positioner. Control circuitry may use sensor circuitry to monitor the environment surrounding the system. The sensor circuitry may include one or more sensors to measure the shape of a surface in front of the system and the location of the surface relative to the system. The sensor circuitry may also measure light illumination on the surface. Based on the known shape of the surface in front of the system and the distance of the surface from the system, the control circuitry can predict where a light should be aimed on the surface. By comparing predictions of light illumination on the surface to measurements of light illumination on the surface, the system can determine how to move the light with the positioner to align the light.

The method includes detecting a target object, determining a relative distance between a given point of the host vehicle sensor system and a detected point of the target object and determining a gradient of the road on which the target object is located, determining a lower angle and an upper angle between a given point of the host vehicle lighting system and a high cut-off point and a low cut-off point, controlling the light sources of the host vehicle lighting system in order to emit a pixelated light beam of the driving beam type in order to generate a dark zone extending substantially between the high and low cut-off points.

摘要: In a headlight optical-axis control device 10, a controller 15 is configured to: calculate vehicle angles indicating tilt angles of a vehicle relative to a road surface, on the basis of ratios, each being a ratio of a difference between a reference acceleration in a longitudinal direction and a signal indicating an acceleration in the longitudinal direction detected during traveling of the vehicle, to a difference between a reference acceleration in a perpendicular direction and a signal indicating an acceleration in the perpendicular direction detected during traveling of the vehicle by an acceleration sensor 2; calculate a plot of the calculated vehicle angles thereby to derive a vehicle angle corresponding to a case where a change of the acceleration in the longitudinal direction is zero; and generate a signal for controlling the optical axes of headlights 5L and 5R on the basis of the derived vehicle angle.
