Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for enabling a user equipment (UE) operating in carrier aggregation mode to use different connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) configurations for different sets of component carriers associated with different sets of numerologies. For example, in Frequency 1 (FR1) plus Frequency 2 (FR2) carrier aggregation (i.e., one or more FR1 component carriers and one or more FR2 component carriers), a different CDRX can be configured for FR1 than for FR2. In inter-band carrier aggregation (i.e., one or more component carriers in one frequency band and one or more component carriers in another frequency band), CDRX can be configured per band. For mixed numerologies carrier aggregation (i.e., one or more component carriers with a first numerology and one or more component carriers with a different numerology), CDRX can be configured per cell group, where each cell group contains a single numerology or mixed numerologies.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, control signaling for communications in a wireless communications system. The control signaling may indicate a first duration for an inactivity timer. The UE may initiate the inactivity timer and a second timer based on identifying a period of inactivity. The second timer may have a second duration that is shorter than the first duration for the inactivity timer. In some examples, the second duration may be based on one or more parameters, such as a display status, a battery status, a scaling factor, the first duration, an application state, or any combination thereof. The UE may release a connection for the communications in the wireless communications system based on an expiration of the second timer, an expiration of the inactivity timer, or a combination thereof.

The grant delay request may indicate a future time, at or thereafter a base station is requested to allocate resources to the UE. In a wireless communications system, a user equipment (UE) may be scheduled to perform a first measurement or paging activity associated with a target cell operating according to a first target cell configuration that is different from a serving cell operating according to a first serving cell configuration of the UE. In some cases, the UE may determine that the UE has performed a previous measurement or paging activity associated with the target cell while being served by the serving cell, the cells operating according to previous cell configurations. The UE may compare at least one of the first and previous target cell configurations or the first and previous serving cell configurations, and may perform the first measurement or paging activity using a script, where the script is either reused or rebuilt based on comparing the cell configurations.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a user equipment (UE) dynamically adjusting a non-access stratum (NAS) timer. Specifically, the UE may determine operation in a wideband and support of an extended coverage (EC) restriction. The UE may further identify a duration of a non-access stratum (NAS) timer based on determining operation in the wideband and the EC restriction. The UE may further transmit an access request message to a network entity to trigger a mobility management procedure. The UE may further receive an acceptance message from the network entity indicating an unrestricted or restricted status of the EC restriction. The UE may further apply the duration to the NAS timer based on the acceptance message indicating the unrestricted or restricted status of the EC restriction received from the network entity or a history of EC restrictions of a public land mobile network (PLMN) in a defined geographic area.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques are described to enable wake-up signal (WUS) error handling at a user equipment (UE). The UE may detect an error pattern when attempting to receive a WUS from a base station based on a configuration for receiving the WUS. For example, the base station may transmit the configuration for receiving the WUS to a set of UEs including the UE. Based on detecting the error pattern, the UE may perform a mitigation operation based on determining the error pattern, such as waking up multiple cells to receive a transmission indicated by the WUS, transmitting a radio link failure indication to the base station, etc. Additionally or alternatively, the base station may transmit multiple WUSs to the UEs, such as a first WUS according to the configuration and a second WUS according to a reconfiguration.
