Abstract:
To provide an apparatus for treating a nitrate waste liquid that includes a denitrification tank (12A) which accommodates active sludge that adsorbs or takes in the radioactive substance in a nitrate waste liquid (11) and in which an anaerobic microorganism that reduces the nitric acid to nitrogen gas grows, and a reaeration tank (14) in which a denitrification-treated liquid (24) treated in the denitrification tank (12A) is aerated and mixed with active sludge. A pH adjuster (21), a first carbon source (22A) and a second carbon source (22B) different in type from each other, and nitrogen gas (N2) are supplied to the denitrification tank (12A) so as to separate a denitrified liquid into a solid content and the denitrification-treated liquid (24) by using a first solid-liquid separating film (25), and the denitrification-treated liquid (24) treated with the active sludge in the reaeration tank (14) is reaerated and separated into a solid content and a reaeration-treated liquid (27) by using a second solid-liquid separating film (28).

Abstract:
A compound represented by the following formula (1), a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof or an optically active form thereof: wherein each symbol is as defined in the specification. A compound having a calcium-sensing receptor antagonistic action, a pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound, particularly a calcium receptor antagonist and a therapeutic drug for osteoporosis are provided.
Abstract:
The present invention is to provide a technology capable of planting seedlings smoothly in actual soil in planting ground such as dry land and allowing the seedling to root securely and grow without artificially supplying water continuously. Not only is a seedling fixed inside an upper opening portion of a tube having a length reachable to a deep water-containing layer in the planting ground but also a raising medium is put inside the tube at a hardness that allows the root of the seedling to grow long downward, and the root of the seedling is allowed to grow below the tube, thereby obtaining the seedling having a long root. A vertical hole having approximately the same diameter as that of the tube is dug in the ground of the planting ground until reaching a soil layer having water quality and water quantity necessary for growth of plant, the seedling having the long root is buried in the vertical hole together with the tube, thereby planting the seedling in the planting ground.
Abstract:
A URAT1 activity inhibitor containing a nitrogen-containing fused ring compound represented by the following formula [1]: wherein each symbol is as defined in the description. The present invention is useful for the prophylaxis or treatment of pathology showing involvement of uric acid, such as hyperuricemia, gouty tophus, acute gouty arthritis, chronic gouty arthritis, gouty kidney, urolithiasis, renal function disorder, coronary artery disease, ischemic heart disease and the like.
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a novel protein involved in adhesion and fusion between myoblasts in the course of the formation of byotube. The present invention relates to Meltrins, which a membrane protein having fusion, adhesion and aggregation activity of cells, especially myoblast; and to polypeptides of their domains, DNAs encoding them, antisense RNA for these DNAs, various antibodies to Meltrins and the polypeptides of their domains, expression vectors containing these DNAs, and transformants by these vectors; as well as to the process for producing Meltrins and the polypeptides of their domains using those transformants and medical compositions comprising Meltrins or antagonist against them as an effective ingredient.
Abstract:
In each node accommodated in a token-ring network system, a storage unit for storing priority levels is constituted by a plurality of flip-flops which provide bit positions of the same number as that of grades of the priority level. When storing a value of priority level which is higher than a value of priority level stored in the storage unit, the corresponding flip-flop of the storage unit is set. Two priority encoders connected to the output of the storage unit detect, from data of priority level stored in the storage unit, first and second priority levels and load then on registers, respectively. In accordance with the contents of the registers, the corresponding flip-flop of the storage unit is rest, when each node detects a value of priority level stored in the storage unit.
Abstract:
An automotive internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder block having at its bottom section a plurality of main bearing supporting sections, a bearing beam structure secured to the cylinder block bottom section and including a plurality of main bearing caps each cooperating with a main bearing supporting section of the cylinder block, and a beam section securely connecting the main bearing caps with each other, and a support arm disposed on an end portion of the bearing beam structure and rigidly connected to the lower section of a transmission bell housing, thereby effectively suppressing the angular displacement of the cylinder block relative to the transmission bell housing.
Abstract:
A laminate is prepared, which comprises a base layer of a fibrous material mixed with a synthetic resin and its cross linking agent, a cover layer of unvulcanized rubber and an intermediate layer of thermoplastic resin. The laminate is shaped into a desired shape by the application of heat and pressure at such an elevated temperature as to cause the cross linking reaction of the synthetic resin in the base layer, the vulcanization reaction in the cover layer and a change of the thermoplastic resin into a soft and adhesive condition to take place simultaneously.
Abstract:
An automotive internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder block having a plurality of cylinder bores and a plurality of bearing bulkheads, and a bearing beam structure secured to the bottom part of the cylinder block and including a plurality of main bearing cap sections each of which associates with each cylinder block bearing bulkhead to rotatably support the journal of a crankshaft, and two beam sections for securely connecting all the bearing cap sections, the two beam sections extending parallel with the axis of the crankshaft and being located at the opposite side portions, respectively, of each bearing cap section, thereby improving the strength of the main bearing cap sections and the cylinder block bearing bulkheads against the tortional and flexural vibrations to effectively suppress the vibrations of a cylinder block skirt section and an oil pan.
