Abstract: An arrangement configured to be employed within a user equipment (UE). The arrangement includes control circuitry. The control circuitry is configured perform a clear channel assessment (CCA) during a data transmission with an evolved Node B (eNodeB), generate a clear channel indicator (CCI) based on the CCA, orthogonally multiplex an acknowledgement (ACK)/negative acknowledgement (NACK) with the CCI, where different sequences are allocated to the CCI and/or different resource block (RB) resources are allocated to the CCI, code and modulate a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) using the multiplexed ACK/NACK, and provide the PUCCH having the CCI within the data transmission.

Abstract: Embodiments of latency reduction for wireless data transmission are generally described herein. A user equipment (UE) identifies a shortened transmission time interval (xTTI) length configuration for a time division duplexing (TDD) component carrier (CC), the xTTI length configuration comprising a length in time or a length in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols. The UE identifies scheduling timing and hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) timing of physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) on the TDD CC based on the identified xTTI length configuration. The UE signals for transmission of a HARQ acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) based on the identified xTTI length configuration.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are apparatuses, systems, and methods using or implementing dynamic beamforming in control channels, by transmitting downlink control channels to user equipment (UEs) in a number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols of a downlink subframe. A first OFDM symbol of the number of OFDM symbols can be transmitted using first beamforming parameters in a first direction, and a second OFDM symbol of the number of OFDM symbols can be transmitted using second beamforming parameters different from the first beamforming parameters and in a second direction different from the first direction. The number of OFDM symbols used, as well as other parameters, can be dynamically adjusted in subsequent subframes. Other embodiments are described.

Abstract: A method for low overhead system information acquisition (LOSIA) is disclosed. The LOSIA method includes several techniques for transmitting common channels in a next generation Radio Access Technology (xRAT). Instead of transmitting system information in a periodic, static, cell-specific, wideband manner, the transmission is triggered by user equipment in an “on demand” manner. The LOSIA method allows the network to control the overhead, bandwidth, and periodicity, as well as other characteristics. The LOSIA method employs several different techniques to trigger the information upon which the network can act, for example, by transmitting different payloads depending on the received trigger.

Abstract: In one example, a user equipment capable to establish a communication connection with a network entity, the user equipment comprising processing circuitry to receive, from a network entity, a primary synchronization signal (xPSS) and a beamforming reference signal (xBRS) transmitted using beamforming sweeping, identify at least one suitable transmission beamforming pattern from the network entity, transmit, to the network entity, an identifier associated with the at least one suitable beamforming pattern for a downlink signal, transmit, to the network entity, an uplink transmission of the physical random access channel (PRACH) transmitted using beamforming sweeping, receive, from the user equipment, a signal comprising an identifier associated with the at least one suitable beamforming pattern in the uplink transmission, and use the at least one suitable beamforming pattern in subsequent communication with the network equipment. Other examples are also disclosed and claimed.

Abstract: Spectrum reservation circuitry for use in a source electronic device (e.g. eNB or UE) of a wireless communication system is provided. The availability of an unlicensed carrier for use is checked by control circuitry of the source device and a License Assisted Access (LAA) Request to Send signal is transmitted on an unlicensed carrier if it is determined to be available for use. Corresponding spectrum reservation circuitry is provided for use in a destination device, comprising transmit circuitry to transmit the LAA Clear to Send signal. Abstract: Devices and methods of using xSS are generally disclosed. A UE receives an xPSS with (Nrep) symbols each with a subcarrier spacing of K x a PSS subcarrier spacing and a duration of a PSS symbol/K. PSD subcarriers surround the xPSS and the ZC sequence is punctured to avoid transmission on a DC subcarrier. Guard subcarriers separate the xPSS and PSD when the ZC sequence is less than the occupied BW of the xPSS and at least one element in the ZC sequence is punctured for xPSS symbol generation otherwise. One or more xSSSs and xS-SCHs may follow the xPSS. The xSS may be omnidirectional, each having a same xPSS and different xSSS or xS-SCH or a different xPSS and same xSSS or xS-SCH or beamformed, each having different xPSSs and xSSSs or xS-SCHs or a same xPSS and different xSSS or xS-SCH.

The MTC device include a wireless transceiver to receive a signal through the LTE network, a soft buffer configured to store a plurality of soft channel bits for up to a maximum number of hybrid automatic retransmission request (HARQ) processes, and a signal processing unit. The signal processing unit is configured to determine a total number of soft channel bits based at least on the maximum number of HARQ processes, and to use limited buffer rate matching (LBRM) to store a reduced number of the total number of soft channel bits in the soft buffer.
