Abstract: A mobile robot includes: a chassis supporting a locomotive assembly; a sensor; a processor configured, in a guided travel mode, to: detect an external force applied to the chassis in a first direction; control the sensor to capture sensor data corresponding to a physical environment of the mobile robot; detect, based on the sensor data, an operational constraint in the physical environment; determine, based on the detected operational constraint, a feedback force in a second direction opposite the first direction; and controlling the locomotive assembly according to the feedback force.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for adjusting imaging parameters of a bioptic barcode reader. The method includes capturing, by an imaging assembly, an initial image of a target object having an indicia thereon. The imaging assembly captures the initial image according to an initial imaging parameter. The method further includes attempting to decode the indicia from the initial image, and responsive to being unable to decode the indicia, detecting a substantially static presence of the target object within a field of view (FOV) of the imaging assembly. The method then includes, responsive to detecting the substantially static presence of the target object within the FOV, adjusting the initial imaging parameter to a subsequent imaging parameter, wherein the subsequent imaging parameter is different than the initial imaging parameter.

Abstract: A method in a navigational controller includes: obtaining (i) a plurality of task fragments identifying respective sets of sub-regions in a facility, and (ii) an identifier of a task to be performed by a mobile automation apparatus at each of the sets of sub-regions; selecting an active one of the task fragments according to a sequence specifying an order of execution of the task fragments; generating a path including (i) a taxi portion from a current position of the mobile automation apparatus to the sub-regions identified by the active task fragment, and (ii) an execution portion traversing the sub-regions identified by the active task fragment; during travel along the taxi portion, determining, based on a current pose of the mobile automation apparatus, whether to initiate execution of another task fragment; and when the determination is affirmative, updating the sequence to mark the other task fragment as the active task fragment.

Abstract: A bioptic barcode reader has a housing having a lower housing portion with an upper surface and an upper housing portion extending above the lower housing portion. A generally horizontal window is positioned at the upper surface, a generally upright window is positioned in the upper housing portion, and an imaging assembly having a primary field-of-view and a set of optical components are positioned within the interior region. The housing has a width greater than or equal to 5 inches and less than or equal to 7 inches, the lower housing portion has a height greater than or equal to 3 inches, the upper housing portion has a height greater than or equal to 4 inches and less than or equal to 6 inches, and the upper surface has a length greater than or equal to 6 inches and less than or equal to 8 inches.
