    摘要: A method and circuit for determining a circuit element parameter in a ground fault circuit interrupter circuit. An electrical signal provided to a first node is used to generate another electrical signal at a second node. The electrical signal at the second node is multiplexed with a modulation signal to generate a modulated signal that is then filtered and converted into a digital representation of a portion of the circuit element parameter. The electrical signal at the second node is multiplexed with the modulation signal after it has been phase shifted to produce a modulated signal that is filter and converted into a digital representation of another portion of the circuit element parameter. In another aspect, a slope based solenoid self-test method is used for self-testing in a GFCI circuit. Alternatively, a method for determining a wiring fault is provided using a digital filter.

    摘要: Power generating component connectivity resistance monitoring techniques are disclosed. In an array of power generating components that are connected in parallel to a power bus, a power generating component measures an output current that it supplies to the power bus. Respective first and second power generating components measure a first voltage at an output of the first power generating component and a second voltage at an output of the second power generating component. A resistance in the array between first and second connection points in the array through which the output current flows is determined based on the measurements of the output current, the first voltage, and the second voltage.

    摘要: The embodiments relate to a method for the computer-aided ascertainment of the impedance of an electrical energy network, wherein the electrical voltage, the active power, and the reactive power are measured at a connection point, by which an electrical energy production installation is connected to the energy network, at respective successive instants. In this case, the impedance value is estimated at respective present instants by a computation code that is independent of the phase of the measured voltage. The estimation is carried out only for relatively large variations in the measured voltage or reactive power. The estimate is also taken into account only if its estimate error is small. The embodiments are based on the insight that accurate estimation of the impedance is possible at particular operating points of the energy network even without knowledge of voltage phase.

    摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide a method of tracing cable through a datacenter. The method causes a cable to emit a radio frequency signal along the length of the cable. One or more structural members have a detection circuit that will illuminate in response to detecting the radio frequency signal with greater than a threshold signal strength, such that the one or more structural members are easy to identify when the detection circuit is illuminated. The one or more structural members may be removed to gain physical access to the cable.

Validation may include estimating a location of the fault using an impedance-based fault location calculation. Time windows of expected arrival times of traveling waves based on the estimated fault location and known parameters of the line may then be established. Arrival times of traveling waves may then be compared against the time windows. If the traveling waves arrive within a time window, then the traveling waves may be used to calculate the location of the fault.
