Abstract:
A watertight roof assembly integrated with solar panels to construct a roof of a building includes a plurality of support units spaced from each other, a plurality of solar modules straddled two neighboring support units, a plurality of fixture units and a plurality of waterproof units corresponding respectively to one solar module. Each support unit includes two bearing planes and a plurality of holding racks located between the two bearing planes. Each solar module has two sides leaned respectively on one of the abutting bearing planes of the two support units. Each fixture unit has a connecting portion, an extension and a press portion. Each waterproof unit has a first press strip and a second press strip.
Abstract:
A lightweight, raised roof edge segmented to accommodate narrow openings for scupper-fed downspouts. The edge's segments include at least one pair of elongated, inflatable or otherwise fillable, membrane-covered barriers, each of which spans about 20 feet, making it compatible with typical spacings between industrial building downspouts. Retrofitted onto a flat or low pitch roof at the latter's joint with an exterior wall, the barrier, still in its flattened state, is secured and sealed not only to the roof but also to the wall. So secured, the barrier straddles the joint between them longitudinally. Subsequently filled with gas or solids, the barrier functions as a check dam, collecting and temporarily storing storm water and/or funneling it, via scupper, into a downspout. Barriers with rigid, longitudinally extending, angular peaks also tend to break up and lift high winds, further reducing potential roof damage.
Abstract:
A multi-tile system for attachment to a mounting surface is provided. Each of the tiles includes an upper edge configured to be oriented upward relative to the mounting surface and a lower edge configured to be oriented downward relative to the mounting surface. The tiles include a receiving member formed on an exterior side of the upper edge and a locking member formed on an interior side of the lower edge. The receiving member of the tile is configured to interlock with the locking member of an adjacent tile to limit movement of the lower edge of one tile away from the upper edge of the other tile. The receiving member and the locking member are configured to define a vertical range of continuous vertical adjustment between adjacent tiles.
Abstract:
A roof load support structure supports a load on a roof such that substantially all of the load is conveyed through rails, which are mounted on roof panel ribs, thence through roof panel ribs, and to underlying building support structure. The panel flat between the rails can be unobstructed such that water can flow freely down the panel flat between the rails; or end closures can close off access to the respective panel flat between the end closures and the rails. One such end closure can be an upper diverter at an up-slope end of the support structure. A lower edge of such upper diverter, e.g. at the panel flat, can slope downwardly across a width of the respective roof panel thereby to direct water laterally across the respective roof panel.
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments of deck drainage systems. In some embodiments, the deck drainage system comprises a floor panel that is configured to be positioned under a deck platform. The floor panel may comprise a floor, a side that extends from the floor, and an overhang that extends from the side. The overhang may be configured to be disposed over another overhang of another floor panel. The end section may be configured to be adjacent to a distal edge of the other overhang. The deck drainage system may further comprise a hanger that is configured to be suspended from the deck platform. The hanger may form a slot into which the end section of the overhang of the floor panel is configured to be inserted.
Abstract:
A technique for installing a skylight at the ridge of the roof is used to redirect water away from the skylight by using a flashing member. Side rails containing a notch in the upper end are configured to receive a flashing member proximate the ridge of the roof. The flashing member redirects water away from the skylight without the use or installation of a diverter to reroute the water.
Abstract:
A fortified flashing laminate includes an uncured thermosetting polymeric layer having a top surface and a bottom surface. A first layer of vulcanized adhesive tape covers at least a portion of the bottom surface of the polymeric layer, and a second layer of vulcanized adhesive tape covers a portion of the first layer of vulcanized adhesive tape to form a fortified area. The size and positioning of the second layer of vulcanized adhesive tape may be selected to fortify known vulnerable areas of flashing laminates.
Abstract:
A modular structure formed by panels is disclosed, having a center compartment and first and second side compartments coupled to the opposing sides of the center compartment. Each panel of the modular structure is joined to each respective adjacent panel via a panel joining assembly to substantially prevent moisture from entering the modular structure. An upper roof panel coupled to the center compartment is joined to first and second lower roof panels coupled to the first side compartment and the second side compartment, respectively, via first structural joining assemblies so that the upper roof panel is elevated relative to the first and second lower roof panels to substantially prevent moisture from entering the modular structure.
Abstract:
A protective covering helps to prevent fastener leaks from roof installed fasteners, which are used to mount roofing systems, such as a solar panel installation system, to roofs with a mounting bracket attached to the roof. The protective covering is a portion of flat, malleable waterproof material molded to form a cover, forming a rounded or peaked triangular-shaped structure when viewed from the side. The triangular shaped structure includes a base and a hypotenuse portion where the line of the roof acts as a side which is covered by at least the hypotenuse portion. The hypotenuse portion meets the roof at an angle. The covering is adapted for insertion under portions of a roof shingle, and extends back in a slight rise (downwardly with respect to the roof) to cover the fastener and L-shaped bracket, which the fastener fastens to the roof.
Abstract:
An escape base on a roof includes a base having an exit, a first shielding portion on a first side of the exit, and a second shielding portion on a second side of the exit opposite to the first side of the exit. The first shielding portion includes a first stop wall extending upward from an outer edge of the first shielding portion. A first shield wall extends outward from the first stop wall. A space is defined between the first shield wall and the first stop wall. The second shielding portion can include a second stop wall extending upward from an outer edge of the second shielding portion, and a second shield wall extends outward from the second stop wall, defining a space between the second shield wall and the second stop wall. The base provides sufficient spaces for receiving waterproof glue for fixing the base to the roof.
