    摘要: A portioning mechanism for supplying a strand of ground meat to a conveyor includes a positive displacement pump supplying a grinder head, which outputs ground meat to the conveyor. The strand of meat on the conveyor has a predetermined cross-section and density, and a portioning system is provided for intermittently separating the ground meat on the conveyor in predetermined lengths, for providing a relatively accurate weight of ground meat portions. A tray supply system positions empty trays at the outlet of the conveyor, and the ground meat portions are deposited onto the trays for subsequent packaging.

The cutting assembly includes a support assembly and a mechanism coupled to the support assembly for rotating the support assembly in an orbital path so that the support assembly passes above the container carriers at substantially the predetermined speed and direction during a first portion of the orbital path. The cutting assembly also includes a blade assembly pivotably coupled to the support assembly for cutting the continuous sheet of material as the support assembly moves above the container carriers during the first portion of the orbital path. The cutting assembly further includes an alignment pin for aligning the blade assembly with respect to the container carriers as the blade assembly cuts the sheet of material.

    摘要: A bell crank type strip feeding apparatus is disclosed in which one arm of the bell crank is coupled to an actuator and the other arm has a feed pawl thereon for feeding the strip. The actuator is a crank pin which is moved along a circular path about a fixed center. The intermediate pivot of the bell crank is mounted for movement along an arcuate path in response to the circular motion of the crank pin. The intermediate pivotal axis of the bell crank is yieldingly supported so that it can move laterally of the arcuate axis path when the feed pawl engages a fixed stop. A shearing mechanism is also disclosed for shearing the strip material at the conclusion of the feeding stroke.

    摘要: A polyhedral ring mirror is manufactured by molding a synthetic resinous blank having in it a cavity in the form of a four-sided pyramid. The wall surfaces of the cavity are metallized to make them light reflective. The blank is then sliced through in a plane normal to the cavity axis to sever from the blank a minor portion, and to leave behind a major portion in which the form of the cavity has been converted into a truncated pyramid having opposite its original opening a smaller opening. The modified blank with the doubly open cavity is placed, smaller opening down, on a printed wire wiring board around a rectangular electrical component on the board to permit visual inspection from a single viewing point above the component, of all of its sides. The size of the large opening of the cavity can be adjusted by slicing away another portion of the blank.

    摘要: A continuous tag feeding and cutting apparatus for cutting a continuous tag strip into proper length tags. A first feeding mechanism feeds the strip of tags past the cutting mechanism to a second feeding mechanism, and a sensor halts the first feeding mechanism each time a sufficient length of the tag strip has been fed past the cutting mechanism. The cutting mechanism includes a rotary blade which is driven through one rotation cycle each time a length of tag strip is fed therepast by the first feeding mechanism. A second feeding mechanism located past the cutting mechansim is engaged with the tag strip for feeding a tag cut from the strip during one rotation of the blade to storage after the tag has been cut from the strip. The second feeding mechanism includes a driving roller which is driven to rotate along with the rotary blade and includes a driven roller which is engageable with the driving roller to engage the tag strip. A cam arrangement disengages the driven roller from the driving roller of the second feeding mechanism during the period prior to the cutting, during the cutting and after the cutting of the tag strip by the rotary blade, and causes the second feed mechanism to reengage the cut tag while the rotary blade is moving from the position after cutting back to the position prior to the next cutting.

    摘要: A paper shear mechanism consists of a guillotine having a fixed blade and a pivoted blade. The cutting edge of the fixed blade is concavely curved so that paper to be cut as fed between the blades assumes a corresponding curvature and is given some longitudinal rigidity during the cutting operation. The pivoted blade is of composite structure to simplify the manufacturing process and thus reduce cost. Essentially, it includes a cutting section stamped from flexible sheet steel shim to provide a cutting edge with the desired nip angle. The flexible steel section is spot welded to a mild steel backing member with an elongated spring member sandwiched between the two. The spring member has a number of spring teeth which exert a force along the length of the flexible section to deflect its cutting edge laterally towards the fixed blade. By this means contact between the cutting edges is maintained along the length of a cut and relief between the facing surfaces of the two blades is provided. A sheet feeding apparatus with a correspondingly curved cross-section to the fixed blade feeds paper web to the shear mechanism. A single motor serves to feed paper during forward rotation and to operate the paper shear during reverse rotation.
