摘要: An apparatus for manufacturing an elastic composite structure for an absorbent sanitary product includes an anvil with weld pattern comprising at least one anchoring region and at least one deactivating region. The anchoring region includes anchoring welds that form anchoring bonds that fuse facing web layers and anchor elastic thread(s) in position relative to the facing web layers. The deactivating region includes a break bar constructed to sever the thread(s). A method of manufacturing the elastic composite structure includes positioning a tensioned elastic thread between web layers, fusing the web layers to form an anchored zone that includes anchoring bonds that fuse the web layers and anchor the tensioned elastic thread therebetween, and cutting the thread to form a deactivated zone between adjacent portions of the anchored zone that is free of tensioned threads. The method further includes fusing the web layers within the deactivated zone.

摘要: The lubrication device delivers a lubricant to the perforating device which provides intermittently spaced cuts to a moving web, also referred to as perforations. The lubrication device includes a retaining member, a plenum, and a comb having a plurality of comb channels. The plenum and the plurality of comb channels are in fluid communication with one another and deliver a lubricant to the perforating device. Lubrication of the perforating device in this manner may improve knife life, perforation quality and web handling.

摘要: In a web cutting device, a web held by pads has a section between mutually adjacent pads that is sandwiched between an anvil and a blade edge of a cutter and cut. A stop member is fixed in a rotating member. The cutter is biased by a biasing member and comes in contact with the stop member. The stop member obstructs travel by the cutter towards the outside in the radial direction of the rotating member, when the cutter comes in contact with the stop member. The biasing member biases the cutter to the outside in the radial direction of the rotating member and causes the cutter to come in contact with the stop member, by using a predetermined biasing force, and allows the cutter to retreat when the reaction force acting on the cutter is greater than the predetermined biasing force.

摘要: An insert assembly is received in a recess on the outer surface of a rotary cutting cylinder. The insert has a hole for a slug ejector pin which is slidingly engagable with the insert. The hole is arranged on the insert to communicate with a through hole in the recess that extends into the interior of the cylinder. When the slug ejector pin is inserted in the pin hole, the pin proximal end is received in the recess hole adjacent to the compressible core and the pin distal end projects from an outer surface of the insert. When the pin is assembled with the insert and the insert is assembled with the cylinder, the pin proximal end operatively engages the compressible core when the pin retracts into the pin hole of the insert and the pin proximal end operatively engages the insert when the pin projects from the pin hole.

摘要: A mechanism and a method for slitting silicone membranes using automated slitting blades is presented. The pattern of slits in the membrane can be adjusted by using a cutting cylinder comprised of a plurality of circular cutting gears assembled in parallel.The cutting cylinder is of indefinite length, but in the preferred embodiment is approximately 15″ long and 3″ in diameter. The silicone membrane can range in thickness from 0.005″ to 0.01″ inch.
