    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes first and second rotating members, a setting unit, and first and second image forming units. The first rotating member rotates at a first period T1. The second rotating member rotates at a second period T2. The setting unit sets the first period T1 and the second period T2 so that T1 and T2 meet a relation T2=(n+0.5)×T1 (n is a positive integer). The first image forming unit forms a first image on the second rotating member in an x-th rotation (x is a positive integer) using first data obtained from print data and using the first rotating member. The second image forming unit forms a second image on the second rotating member in an (x+y)-th rotation (y is an odd positive integer) using second data obtained from the print data and using the first rotating member.

    摘要: Apparatus is described which, in use, applies a thin film of a wetting agent, such as water or a water-based solution, onto paper or other print medium before applying a liquid toner. The wetting agent is applied at a predetermined distance from an image transfer area. The wetting agent acts to promote adhesion of the liquid toner to the print medium. The adhesion of the liquid toner to the print medium is further improved by supplying the wetting agent at a temperature higher than room temperature.

    摘要: An image formation system includes an image forming apparatus for forming different color toner images on a recording material having a toner reception layer, a first heater for heating and pressing the toner image on the recording material, and a heater for heating and pressing the toner image on the recording material having been heated and pressed by the first heater. The first heater is operable so as to provide a granularity R of the toner image satisfying 0.5≦R≦4.0 and a glossiness G of the toner image satisfying 5≦G≦40, the second heater being operable so as to provide a granularity R of the toner image that is not more than 4.0 and a glossiness G of the toner image that is not less than 60.

    摘要: A method of producing an image on a final image receptor in a single pass electrophotographic system is provided. The method includes the steps of providing at least one toner development unit including a photoreceptive element and charged toner particles, and creating a toned image on the photoreceptive element that is transferred to an intermediate transfer member. The method further includes providing a transfer assist material development unit for applying a transfer assist material to at least a portion of the toned image to form a complete image layer on the intermediate transfer member, wherein the complete image layer is formed in a single pass of the intermediate transfer member. The method also includes contacting the complete image layer with a final image receptor while applying a bias that is sufficiently strong to transfer at least a portion of the complete image layer to the final image receptor.
