    摘要: A display device includes: a liquid crystal display panel; and a driver circuit that drives the liquid crystal display panel. The liquid crystal display panel includes a liquid crystal layer, pixel electrodes provided in a region facing the liquid crystal layer and which apply a voltage thereto, and a phase difference layer and a polarizing plate each provided on a side, relative to the liquid crystal layer, which ambient light enters. Each of the pixel electrodes includes a plurality of partial electrodes, and the driver circuit selects one or more partial electrodes from the partial electrodes to which a constant voltage is to be applied in accordance with an image signal. The constant voltage causes the liquid crystal display panel to be in a white state. The driver circuit performs gray-scale display by modulating lighting area of each pixel at a frame rate of less than 60 Hz.

    摘要: According to an aspect, a semi-transmissive liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix, a plurality of reflective electrodes, a counter electrode facing the reflective electrode, and a liquid crystal layer. The reflective electrodes are provided for each of the pixels, and each of them includes a plurality of electrodes, with a combination of the areas of which area coverage modulation is performed by using n bits. The electrodes are configured such that a ratio of the sum of the perimeter(s) of electrode(s) corresponding to each bit of the n bits satisfies 1:2: . . . :2n-1. The liquid crystal layer is provided between the reflective electrode and the counter electrode. The semi-transmissive liquid crystal display device is configured to carry out reflective display using the reflective electrode and carry out transmissive display using at least a space of the reflective electrode between the pixels.

    摘要: A display device includes: a liquid crystal display panel; and a driver circuit that drives the liquid crystal display panel.     摘要: An input device, disposed in front of a display device, includes a polarizing film, a λ/4 retardation film, and a touch sensor unit including first and second light transmissive films arranged farther from the outside of the input device than the polarizing film. Each of the first and second light transmissive films is formed of a film controlled such that it is approximately optically isotropic. The film exhibits birefringence caused by drawing in the machine direction upon manufacture such that the slow axis extends along the machine direction. The machine direction of the film is allowed to be orthogonal to that of the other film, thus allowing the slow axes to be orthogonal to each other in order to cancel out the slow axes such that the input device is generally isotropic.
