Abstract: A light source device is disclosed, which involves forming a plurality of carrier planes on a substrate with at least one of the carrier planes forming an angle relative to the substrate, and respectively mounting LEDs on the carrier planes and electrically connecting the LEDs with the carrier planes so as to obtain a preferred light distribution effect, thereby eliminating the need of additional light control element in the prior art and enhancing light emitting efficiency of the light source device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a lighting system comprising a plurality of LEDs emitting light with different colors. The LEDs are provided with collimating optical components (51, 55) in order to emit collimated light beams. The LEDs are arranged in at least two layers (43, 45) and the collimating optical components (51) in the front layer are dichroic reflectors, so that they reflect the light from the associated front layer LED but transmit the light emitted from the rear layer behind. This eliminates or reduces the occurrence of colored edges around shadows on an illuminated surface.

Abstract: An LED lighting array is disclosed wherein a plurality of light emitting devices disposed in at least first and second columns are mounted on a planar mounting surface to form an emission plane. The emission axes of all the LEDs in a first column are parallel with each other and lie in a first plane. The emission axes of the LEDs in an adjacent, second column are also parallel, but a second plane containing the emission axes of the second column is disposed at a predetermined, non-zero angle with respect to the first plane. The non-zero angle is a function of the LED beam width and the distance to a lighting target. This configuration of the LEDs provides an optimum balance at a predetermined target distance between the size of the area illuminated and the brightness of the illumination of the target. In one aspect of the invention the LED lighting array includes at least first, second and third columns of LEDs. In another aspect of the invention an LED task light includes a transparent tube and an LED lighting array disposed within the tube. An electrical drive circuit associated with the mounting substrate within the tube provides pulsed direct current for driving the LED's.

Abstract: A lighting device has a power interface and a control circuit in communication with a program and the LEDs to simulate a flame. The program determines a first group of LED control integers to simulate a perpetual middle with a perpetual middle center and a perpetual middle range within which one or more of the LEDs are to be at least partially actuated. At least one LED is actuated based on the first group of LED control integers. A first target for simulating movement of the perpetual middle center toward the first target and a first acceleration value is defined. The program determines a second group of LED control integers based on the first target and the first acceleration value such that the perpetual middle center becomes closer to the first target. One or more of the LEDs is actuated based on the second group of LED control integers.
