Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) with repetitions, including techniques for signaling the number of PDCCH repetitions, the hybrid automatic repeat request (HARD) timeline processing with PDCCH repetitions, and the demodulation reference signal (DMRS) structure for the repeated PDCCH. A method for wireless communications, by a user equipment (UE), includes determining a number of repetitions of a PDCCH. Each of the PDCCH repetitions has a same downlink control information (DCI) payload, a same aggregation level, and/or a grant for a same data channel allocation. The method includes monitoring for the PDCCH based on the determined number of repetitions.

In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine to block puncture or to block shorten a set of transmitted bits of an adjusted fractally enhanced kernel polar code for a communication of an incremental redundancy (IR)-hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process based at least in part on a code rate associated with the communication of the IR-HARQ process. The wireless communication device may generate the adjusted fractally enhanced kernel polar code for the communication based at least in part on determining to block puncture or to block shorten the set of transmitted bits. The wireless communication device may transmit the communication using the adjusted fractally enhanced kernel polar code. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for demodulation reference signal (DMRS) time domain bundling and multiple codeword transmission and processing in new radio (NR) systems. A method by a transmitting device includes transmitting multiple codewords to a receiving device in a first period, each of the multiple codewords transmitted using a different set of one or more DMRS ports. The transmitting device determines to retransmit one or more of the multiple codewords and, for each of the multiple codewords to be retransmitted, the set of DMRS ports for retransmission of the codeword. The determination is based, at least in part, on whether DMRS time domain bundling is configured. The transmitting device retransmits the one or more codewords in a second period based on the determination. The receiving device determines the DMRS ports used and processes the retransmitted codewords based on the determination.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and multiple network coding devices may communicate to reduce multiple network coding devices accepting a same take over request message from the UE for a given data packet. In some examples, the multiple network coding devices may determine respective backoff periods to wait before accepting the take over request message such that each backoff period is different for each network coding device. In some examples, the UE may receive respective broadcast messages from each of the multiple network coding devices that indicate a network coding capability parameter, and the UE may select a network coding device based on the received capability parameter. In some examples, a network coding device may transmit an indication of packet overload and refrain from accepting a take over request message.
