Abstract: A rain simulation system that replicates realistic raindrop characteristics for controlled testing is invented. The rain simulation system can be used as a stand-alone system with wind using a blower fan or in a wind tunnel, and without wind to create wind-driven and vertically falling rain droplets, respectively. In addition, methods to simulate rainfall for stationary and moving objects such as a road passenger vehicle are proposed. The rain simulation system is fully adjustable for a range of droplet size, impact velocity, rain intensity, rain coverage via the use of dripping nozzle devices and positioning of system components. The rain simulation system dispenses distinct droplets or continuous streams that can be broken down into droplets by wind. A rain nozzle device is coupled with a rain reservoir, and multiple nozzles are used to create a rain matrix, the full matrix is integrated with a rain rack and rainwater flow control strategy.

Abstract: A mist blower in one aspect of the present disclosure includes an air blower, an air feed pipe, a tank, a liquid feed pipe, a nozzle, a first electromagnetic valve, a controller, and a first manual switch. The first electromagnetic valve (i) opens the liquid feed pipe in response to the first electromagnetic valve being activated and (ii) closes the liquid feed pipe in response to the first electromagnetic valve being deactivated. The controller activates or deactivates the air blower and the first electromagnetic valve. The first manual switch (i) is manually moved by a user of the mist blower and (ii) commands the controller to activate or deactivate the air blower based on a movement of the first manual switch.

Abstract: A method for evaluating the pump actuation for a pump dispenser that comprises two sub-units which can be moved manually towards one another and a pump which has a pump chamber that can be made smaller by moving the sub-units from a first end position into an actuated second end position. The force with which the sub-units are moved towards one another is detected by a force sensor during movement of the sub-units. The curve over time of the detected force is evaluated such that an increase in force is identified which is characteristic for reaching the actuated second end position. Depending on whether the increase in force was detected, a signal which is characteristic for the result is haptically, acoustically and/or visually output and/or transmitted via a wireless interface to an external display apparatus, by means of an output device.
