    Abstract: The present invention extends to independently programmable lights for use in gloves and to gloves that incorporate such lights. Each independently programmable light of the present invention can include a programmable controller that stores logic for controlling the light such as by changing the color emitted by the light or the on/off pattern of the light. The user of the glove can modify the logic within the programmable controller to customize the functionality of the light. These modifications can be made by connecting the programmable light or a dedicated control unit that connects to each programmable light to another computer system to transfer new or updated logic to a programmable controller for controlling the lights in a custom manner.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an illumination system comprising a luminaire which is configured to provide light according to a plurality of preset combinations of illumination level and color temperature, controlled via a control protocol. The system further comprises a user interface comprising means to (manually) select the illumination level and color temperature from said plurality of preset combinations. The number of preset combinations is at least three. The control protocol comprises transition times for transitions between said preset combinations, said transition times being in the range of about 2 seconds to about 5 minutes. The invention further relates to an illumination method using the illumination system and to a controller uploaded with said preset lighting settings. The use of the system in dependence on the activity, time of day or atmosphere in the classroom has been proven to improve the learning behavior of children. It therefore is a learning tool for teachers.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a luminaire provided with a housing with light-emitting elements which are located near a light emission side of the housing and which are activated in that a user touches one or more sensors accommodated in a wall of the housing. Usually such luminaires are switched on and off by a user using a switch provided in or near the house. It is an object of the invention to provide a luminaire of which many variables, such as the intensity, the beam width, and the color of the light emitted during operation, can be adjusted by a user in a simple manner. According to the invention, a luminaire for this purpose is proposed wherein the sensors are arranged multidimensionally, and the number of activated light-emitting elements corresponds to the size of the wall surface including sensors that is touched by the user.

    Abstract: Various embodiments relate to an apparatus for controlling a lighting device. A light control circuit can use a controlled lighting sequence control and drive viewed sections of a lighting device to display chroma key color or emit infrared light, while driving other unviewed portions of the lighting device to display ambient and incident lighting. The viewed and unviewed lighting sections can be based on the field of vision of an image capture device and can change in relation to movements of the image capture device. A sensor can make measurements to determine to field of vision of the image capture device and can be used to generate or modify the controlled lighting sequence. An image processing circuit can generate a composite image using the chroma key while maintaining the subjects that are captured using ambient and incident lighting.

    Abstract: Example methods and systems for controlling three-dimensional lighting arrangements are described. One example method includes a method is provided that involves (1) receiving by a computing system location data indicating a respective location of each of a plurality of light sources within a volume, (2) receiving by the computing system an indication to provide a geometric lighting arrangement, where the geometric lighting arrangement comprises a plurality of points having a pre-determined spatial relationship, (3) determining by the computing system a respective location, within the volume, of each point in the geometric lighting arrangement, where at least one of the light sources corresponds to each point, and (4) for each light source that corresponds to one of the points, controlling by the computing system the light source such that a light beam from the light source illuminates the location of the corresponding point within the volume.
