摘要: A display device provided with a polarising photovoltaic module includes (a) a plurality of polarisers; (b) a plurality of pixels which emit or transmit light referred to as image light; (c) a plurality of photovoltaic active zones and a plurality of openings, two adjacent photovoltaic active zones forming an opening and said photovoltaic active zones being arranged between the pixels and the polarisers; wherein said polarisers are semi-reflective and are made up of one or more surfaces selected among planar surfaces, which are concave or convex, and have parabolic, conical, pyramidal, tetrahedral, semi-cylindrical or cylindrical-parabolic shapes, said polarisers being arranged so as to concentrate, by reflection, a first linear polarised component of the ambient light onto said photovoltaic active zones, as well as to transmit, through the polarising photovoltaic module, a second linear polarised component of the ambient light or of the image light.

摘要: A display device capable of emitting sufficient fluorescence is provided without an increase in the thickness of the liquid crystal layer. The device includes: a fluorescent emission layer (23) having fluorescent pigment molecules that absorb light to emit fluorescence; and a liquid crystal layer (4) capable of switching between a transparent state and a scattering state. The fluorescent pigment molecules are dichroic fluorescent pigment molecules (23a) with different emission intensities depending on the direction of emission. The dichroic fluorescent pigment molecules (23a) in the fluorescent emission layer (23) are oriented so as to have transition dipole moments with the same direction.

The substrate has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, the substrate comprises a first circuit layer disposed over the first surface and a second circuit layer disposed over the second surface. The meshed shielding pattern is disposed on first surface of the substrate to define a plurality of pixel regions over the substrate. The light-emitting devices are disposed on the first surface of the substrate and electrically connected to the first circuit layer, and at least one of the light-emitting devices is disposed in one of the pixel regions. The solar cell is disposed on the second surface of the substrate and electrically connected to the second circuit layer.

摘要: The embodiments herein relate to electrochromic window systems and components thereof. In particular, the disclosed embodiments relate to systems where electrochromic devices are powered and/or controlled using photonic energy. In an exemplary embodiment, a laser is driven by a driver to deliver photonic power and/or control information into an optical fiber. The optical fiber carries the power and control information to a photovoltaic converter and a controller. The photovoltaic converter and controller may be included within an insulated glass unit in some embodiments. The photovoltaic converter converts the light energy into electrical energy used to power a transition in an optical state of an electrochromic layer or layers within the insulated glass unit. The controller may be used to control the power delivered to the electrochromic layer(s), such that a smooth transition occurs. In some embodiments, control information may be transmitted in an upstream manner to communicate information regarding, for example, the state of an electrochromic device (e.g., current level of tinting, fault status, etc.).
