摘要: Several embodiments of a device for economically harvesting wave energy are disclosed. A sealed vessel for air storage, the spar buoy, is mostly submerged under water is also used as an inertial body that surface floats move relative to. The spar buoy may take many geometrical forms, but all have a stem that is above the water surface. Piston pumps are placed at the top of the stem. The pump has a gearing reduction to optimize the rotational motion of the pump drive shaft. Small angular motion at the drive shaft results in multiple cycles of linear reciprocal motion of the piston. Various mechanisms could convert the relative motion between the floats and the spar buoy to a rotational motion of the shaft. The compressed air generated by the pump is stored in the spar buoy and regenerated as electrical energy by expanding the compressed air in a turbine.

摘要: An integrated system for tidal/wave flow electrical power generation. This bi-directional system utilizes the wave flow on the shores and the flow of various rivers and estuaries to generate electrical power through a venturi box which has mounted in it and comprises of the following components: a vane assembly with variable pitch vanes made from high impact blade material; a drive shaft assembly that connects the vane drive unit with the generator; a flow detection vane that determines velocity and direction thereby providing input to the flow detection controller and variable pitch computer and controller; a solid state voltage regulator; a mechanical fly wheel assist for the drive assembly during transition between flow direction; a grid cycle input device to match the power being generated with the grid. This system is capable of being coupled together both physically and electrically. The generator unit assembly is a field replaceable unit to ease installation and maintenance. The venturi box design mitigates slit and sand build-up. The vane radial design limits the damage by flotsam and provides a means of reducing fish damage as well.

摘要: The ocean wave energy converter uniquely includes a generator with a rotating inner rotor surrounded by a counter-rotating outer rotor for generating electricity. A reciprocating drive rod drives the inner rotor on the downstroke of the drive rod and the outer rotor on the upstroke of the drive rod through a gear driven driveshaft with clutches. A buoy is attached to end of the drive rod whereby the undulation of the ocean waves relative to the buoy reciprocates the drive rod between the upstroke and the downstroke positions.

摘要: A system is described for manufacturing hydrogen gas which utilizes the energy of surface waves in a liquid, such as an ocean. The system first converts the energy of surface waves to mechanical energy by apparatus comprising a buoyant helical member mounted for rotation about an axis. The pitch of the helical member can be matched to the length of the expected waves and the member is floated on the surface with its axis oriented so that each wave traverses the helix lengthwise and buoyantly supports successive sections thereof causing it to rotate about its axis. The helix is coupled with rotary driven means to an electrical generator, wherein the mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy in the form of DC current which in turn is employed to electrolyze ocean water to produce hydrogen gas which may then be compressed or liquified, e.g. for storage and transportation.

摘要: The present invention is a Bladeless Underwater Electricity Generator which can generate a current or voltage from the movement saltwater through the bladeless generator. The bladeless generator utilizes a stream of ions within a magnetic field to separate ions by the Lorentz force. The Ions then contact electrodes where electrons are released or absorbed based on whether the fluid near the electrode is negative or positively charged. The bladeless generator also has a hydrofoil system which can adjust the velocity of the fluid through the magnetic field of the bladeless generator. The ability to adjust the speed of the fluid velocity through the magnetic field increases or decreases the Lorentz force exerting on ions in the saltwater stream.

摘要: Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for wave power generation. In one aspect, a wave power generator device includes a stator assembly and a rotor assembly encased within a tube frame. The stator assembly includes an array of inductor coils in a fixed position within a cavity of the tube frame and a plurality of bearings coupled to the tube frame. The rotor assembly includes a turbine rotor having a central hub and peripheral blades coupled to a high inertia annular flywheel that is moveably engaged with the bearings of the stator assembly, and an array of magnets arranged to be evenly spaced and of alternating axial polarity from one another extending from the annular flywheel into the cavity between the array of inductor coils, such that electric currents are produced based on magnetic field interaction of the magnets with the inductor coils during the rotation of the annular flywheel.
