    摘要: A throttle body 12 is connected to a rear portion of a cylinder head 10 of an air-cooled engine 5, and a fuel pump 23 is disposed in front of the engine 5. The fuel pump 23 is such as to be disposed below a fuel tank 6 in such a manner as to be separated therefrom and to be integrated with an auxiliary tank. Fuel is sent under pressure from the fuel pump 23 to the throttle body 12 via a fuel feed tube 13, and surplus fuel is returned to the integrated auxiliary tank, consequently, no piping for return fuel being required. Vapor generated in the fuel pump 23 returns to a space above a fuel level resulting when the fuel tank 6 is filled up via an exclusive return tube 25 and is, therefore, prevented from mixing into fuel.

    摘要: In the DME fuel supply device for a diesel engine, the time necessary to retrieve DME fuel remaining in the injection system after stopping the diesel engine into the fuel tank can be reduced. In a non-injection state, a three-way valve (71) is controlled to be OFF to form a communication passage in the direction indicated by the arrow B and a two-way valve (72) is controlled to be ON. DME fuel delivered from a feed pump (5) is delivered to an aspirator (7), passed from an inlet (7a) to the outlet (7b) thereof and returned to a fuel tank (4). That is, the DME fuel circulates via the aspirator. A vapor-phase pressure delivery pipe switching solenoid valve (75) is controlled to be ON and opened so that flow can pass through a vapor-phase pressure delivery pipe (73) connecting the vapor-phase (4a) in the fuel tank (4) and the inlet of the fuel gallery (11). DME fuel in a liquid state remaining in the fuel gallery (11), an overflow fuel pipes (8) and (9) is delivered under pressure to a suction port (7c) by the high pressure of the vapor-phase (4a).

The fuel tank includes a fuel tank body with a fuel feed conduit operatively attached thereto, for feeding fuel to a fuel injection system. The fuel feed conduit has a pickup inlet which opens into the fuel tank body, allowing fuel to be drawn outwardly by a fuel pump of the fuel injection system. The fuel tank also includes a fuel return conduit with a return port inside the fuel tank body, for returning unused fuel therethrough to the fuel tank body. The return port of the fuel return conduit is directed toward the pickup inlet of the fuel feed conduit. The fuel feed and return conduits may be fixed to the fuel tank body using a plate-shaped member.

    摘要: A fuel supply for an internal combustion engine includes an improved construction for inhibiting vapor from appearing in the fuel supplied to the engine's combustion chamber(s). A fuel injector, as one of fuel supply devices, is provided for supplying fuel to the combustion chamber of the engine. There are a first and second fuel reservoirs. The first fuel reservoir stores fuel and delivers it to the second fuel reservoir through a first fuel supply conduit, while the second fuel reservoir temporarily store the fuel and delivers it to the fuel injector through a second fuel supply conduit. The excess fuel is returned to the second fuel reservoir from the fuel injector through a fuel return conduit. The fuel supply includes a fuel cooling device for cooling the fuel passing through at least one of the conduits. The construction of the fuel supply and the fuel cooling device permits them to be located with the tight confines between the engine and a protective enclosure (e.g., a cowling of an outboard motor).
