The filling foam composition is prepared by mixing foamable polymer, a foaming agent, and a basic oxide in such a mixing ratio that a ratio of the basic oxide can be in the range of 0.05-70 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of foaming agent. The mounting member for the filling foam composition to be mounted in an internal space of a hollow member is produced by mounting a mounting member on the filling foam composition obtained. The filling foam is formed by fitting the foam filling member in the internal space of the hollow member and, then, foaming the filling foam composition by the application of heat.

The present invention relates to a binder composition containing a) 30 to 90 wt. % of an aqueous, hydroxy- and/or amino-functional resin dispersion and b) 10 to 70 wt. % of a curing agent containing alkoxysilyl groups and having a free isocyanate group content of 10 to 23 wt. % and a viscosity of 50 to 10000 mPa.multidot.s at 23.degree. C., wherein the molar ratio of the hydroxyl groups of component a) to the isocyanate groups of component b) is 0.5:1 to 2:1. The present invention also relates to the use of these binder compositions in coating and sealing compositions.

Fluid-sealing gasket sheet materials are described herein which seal particularly well against polar liquids. These gasketing sheets have from about 5 to about 20% fiber, and at least about 62% filler, and a reduced binder concentration, containg about 18% by weight of binder or less, allowing the binder to be reduced even to zero. The filler must be at least about 3% by weight of a gel-forming mineral filler. In addition to giving from good to very excellent seals against polar liquids, this gasketing also has good torque retention and creep resistance.

A sealing material is prepared by furnishing a liquid composition comprising a polydiene or polyolefin polyol, a polyisocyanate compound, a foam stabilizer, and a blowing agent, uniformly dispersing an inert gas in the liquid composition by mechanical agitation to form a bubbled composition, shaping the bubbled composition into a sheet shape, and heat curing the bubbled shape at a temperature below the decomposition temperature of the blowing agent. The sealing material is lightweight and has a high blowing magnification. On use, the sealing material is disposed in a cavity of an automotive pillar or similar member and heated for foaming to fill the cavity with the foamed product.
