    摘要: A valve (10) for use with a dispensing container. The valve comprises a valve stem (11), a valve body (14) and one or more seals (17, 18), the valve stem being slidable within the valve body, the one or more seals co-operating with the valve stem for regulating discharge of fluid. The vale further comprises a sealing gasket (16) for sealing the valve (10) to a dispensing container, in which the one or more seals is/are formed from a first material and the sealing gasket is formed from a second material different from the first material, wherein the sealing gasket is formed from a material comprising butyl or EPDM and the one or more seals is/are formed from a material comprising EPDM or Butyl.

    摘要: A butyl rubber composition, which comprises 100 parts by weight of butyl rubber and 30 to 150 parts by weight of carbon black having a CTAB specific surface area of 30 to 100 m2/g and preferably further contains 10 to 100 parts by weight of a flat filler having an average particle size of 1 to 40 nullm and an aspect ratio of 5 or more and 0.05 to 5 parts by weight of a coupling agent of organometallic compound is provided. The butyl rubber composition can give vulcanization molded products capable of effectively sealing a carbondioxide refrigerant without generation of blisters, etc therein.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method of waterproofing using a layered water sealing article of manufacture including a layer of a flexible sheet material adhered to a layer of a composition comprising a non-hydrated water-swellable clay intimately contacted with a polypropene, polybutene, or mixtures thereof. The water swellable clay composition can be adhered to the flexible sheet material in any manner, such as by extruding the composition in sheet form onto a layer of sheet material. The clay composition layer is sufficiently tacky to adhere to the sheet material on one major surface, and is sufficiently tacky for adherence to a wall or conduit, floor or roof on an exposed major surface in areas of potential water flow to prevent the seepage of water through the bentonite clay composition layer. In one embodiment, the clay composition layer includes a polypropene and/or a polybutene and an elastomer, such as butyl rubber, having sufficient resilience to stretch or expand with the expanding water-swellable clay composition upon hydration and to aid in maintaining the structural integrity and cohesiveness of the clay composition. In another embodiment, the clay composition layer comprises a water-swellable clay, an elastomer, and any plasticizer compatible with the elastomer.

    摘要: A multiple glazed window unit employing a room temperature vulcanizable sealant is disclosed. The sealant comes in the form of two relatively low viscosity components, each of which has an unlimited storage life. When it is desired to apply the sealant, the components are fed to an extruder and blended together to form a cold flowable mastic material of relatively low viscosity which cures at room temperature to form a firm, tacky, resilient seal. Because each of the two components of the sealant composition are of low viscosity, the sealant can be extruded at relatively low temperatures, thus preventing rapid curing and insuring that the sealant composition will have an initial low viscosity, thereby permitting it to be applied to a multiple glazed unit with low temperature and pressure equipment.
