    摘要: Contraceptive devices that provide substantially immediate and permanent sterilization are described herein. Systems and methods for transcervically delivering the contraceptive devices are also described herein. The contraceptive device may include an expandable implant. The implant includes hydrogel to provide substantially immediate sterilization, and tissue in-growth fibers to provide permanent sterilization. As an alternative or in combination to hydrogel, the implant may include copper or cupric ions to provide substantially immediate sterilization. The implant may also include hydrogel to improve trackability of the implant through an ovarian pathway.

    摘要: A method, apparatus, and kit for marking the opening between the fallopian tube and the uterus (tubal ostia) are provided. A marking dye provided in a marking assembly including a fluid dispenser coupled to a catheter having an open end and a guide wire. The catheter is inserted into the uterus and to a position adjacent the tubal ostia. When properly inserted, the fluid dispenser is activated to cause fluid to flow through the catheter and to the wall of the uterus to provide a mark. Once the mark is provided, endometrial ablation process can be provided in the uterus. The marks can then be used to guide the insertion of tubal occlusion devices.

    摘要: The present invention comprises systems, methods and devices for the delivery of compositions for occluding or of elements for opening conduits. The implantable occlusive material may be delivered pre-formed or in situ cured and, may be a resorbable or degradable material that supports tissue ingrowth or wound healing or a similar response that replaces the cured occlusive material leaving little or no original occlusive material in place. The delivery system is positioned to allow for placement of the occlusive material into the body conduit. Use of delivery systems, methods and devices for re-opening an occluded body conduit are also included.

    摘要: A medical device and procedure is described which can be used for occluding a fallopian tube. In one implementation, the apparatus includes an elongate member, an electrode carrier and one or more conductors. The elongate member has a lumen operable to couple to a vacuum source and draw moisture way from one or more electrodes included in the electrode carrier, and a lumen configured to receive a hysteroscope. The electrode carrier includes one or more bipolar electrodes and can to couple to a radio frequency energy generator. The one or more conductors connect to a controller operable to control the delivery of radio frequency energy to the one or more bipolar electrodes. The elongate member is a substantially rigid member configured with a curve to facilitate advancement of the distal end transcervically through a uterus and into a region of a tubal ostium of a fallopian tube to be occluded.

    摘要: The invention relates to a cannulator that has an adjustable shape for conforming to an anatomy to reach the tubal ostium of a patient. The cannulator includes a body segment, a tip section, and a handle. The body segment is made of a malleable material having a malleable characteristic with a degree of resistance to lateral deflection until sufficient force is applied to cause permanent bending thereby imparting a shape to the body segment. The tip section is positioned at a distal end of the body segment and the handle is positioned at a proximal end of the body segment.
