Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a user plane congestion control service is provided. The service may analyze congestion information of user plane traffic in data sessions associated with a plurality of end devices. The service may include selecting, based on the analyzing, configuration parameters for uplink/downlink traffic mapped to one or more user class values of the end devices. The service may include generating a data session update indicating a modification to the configuration parameters for a user class value.

Abstract: A network device executes an account management function that pre-authorizes network service unit consumption by multiple subscribers that are members of a same, shared network service account. The account management function receives, from multiple charging systems distributed within the network, network unit consumption charges associated with each of the multiple subscribers, where the network device is centrally located within a network relative to multiple locations associated with the plurality of charging systems. The account management function updates a consumption counter for the same, shared network service account based on the network unit consumption charges associated with the multiple subscribers received from the multiple charging systems distributed within the network.

A network device of a core network may receive a registration request message that includes a request for an end device policy. The network device may perform a registration procedure and a policy procedure pertaining to an end device. The network device determines when the registration and the policy procedures are completed. The network device transmits a registration response that includes an end device policy to an end device.

Abstract: A network device may provide heartbeat requests to a plurality of network function producers, and may set states of the plurality of network function producers to suspended based on not receiving responses to the heartbeat requests after a predetermined time. The network device may receive, from a network function consumer, a discovery request requesting identification of network function producers providing a service or with a network function type, and may determine, based on the discovery request, that none of the plurality of network function producers are available based on the states of the plurality of network function producers being set to suspended. The network device may provide, to the network function consumer, a discovery response that includes a list of the plurality of network function producers with status indicators set to active.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein employ an allocation and retention priority for user equipment (UE), referred to as a UE ARP. The UE ARP may be defined per network slice, such that a subscriber can have different priority in different slices. According to one implementation, a network device receives, from a UE device, a registration request requesting access to a network slice and obtains a UE ARP. The UE ARP associates the UE device with a priority level on the network slice. When the network device determines that a maximum number of terminals are using the network slice, it applies the priority level in the UE ARP to grant or deny the UE device access to the network slice.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein use group segmentation of applications (referred to herein as “slicing classes”), based on common service requirements, to allow carriers to assign UE traffic to network slices. A UE stores slicing class definitions for use with UE Route Selection Policies (URSP). Each of the slicing class definitions include network quality of service (QoS) characteristics that are applicable to network traffic for multiple software applications. The UE maps the software applications to corresponding slicing class identifiers associated with the slicing class definitions. The UE also stores URSP rules for associating a slicing class identifier with a network slice identifier. A UE operating system sends, to a modem, one of the slicing class identifiers for an application that is requesting attachment to a wireless network. The modem sends a registration request with a selected network slice identifier based on the received slicing class identifier and the URSP rules.

For example, a Beam Load Balancing System (“BLBS”) of some embodiments may use such information to identify beams, of one or more base stations, for which a configuration should be modified in order to provide RF connectivity to one or more UEs in a manner that optimizes Quality of Service (“QoS”) provided to the UEs and/or efficiently utilizes network resources.

Abstract: A device receives a call invitation message with a Session Description Protocol (SDP) offer for establishing a call between a calling party and a called party and obtains a set of network fallback rules associated with the called party. The device determines, based on the set of network fallback rules, whether to reject the call and avoid network fallback from a first wireless network to a second wireless network. The device sends, based on the determination, a call denial message without an SDP answer, to reject the call and avoid the network fallback.

Abstract: A system includes an updated network function and a consumer network function. The updated network function includes a recent update and is configured to register at a Network Repository Function (NRF) using a Network Function (profile (NF profile). The NF profile indicates a network function type (NF type) and a first priority associated with the update. The consumer network function is configured to: receive a message from a network component; determine to engage a service of a network function of the NF type based on the message; determine a desired priority for the service; and send a discovery request to the NRF in response to the message; receive a search result from the NRF in response to the discovery request. The search result has a list of candidate network functions of the NF type.
