The UE comprises at least one processor configured to determine a first subcarrier spacing and a transceiver configured to transmit, to a base station (BS), random access signals generated with the first subcarrier spacing and receive a downlink control signaling comprising a physical (PHY) resource configuration that includes a second subcarrier spacing. The UE further comprises at least one processor configured to set the PHY resource configuration for at least one of uplink transmission or downlink reception.

Abstract: A Device to Device (D2D) user equipment (UE) is configured to support synchronization in a D2D network. The D2D UE includes an antenna configured to communicate via a D2D communication. The D2D UE also includes processing circuitry configured to enter a communication Mode 2 when certain conditions are met. The certain conditions include: when a first timer (T310) for detecting radio link failure is running, a second timer (T311) for initiating the connection reestablishment is running, or a third timer (T301) for requesting connection reestablishment is running. In communication Mode 2, the D2D UE, on its own, selects resources from resource pool(s) to transmit D2D data and D2D control information. The processing circuitry further configured to exit the communication Mode 2 and enter a communication Mode 1 when the certain condition is no longer met. In communication Mode 1, the D2D UE uses resources configured by another station.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for CSI reporting mechanisms are provided. A user equipment (UE) includes a transceiver and a processor operably connected to the transceiver. The transceiver is configured to receive information indicating a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) resource configuration, uplink-related downlink control information (DCI), and a CSI-RS associated with a selected CSI-RS resource in a same subframe as the uplink-related DCI. The processor configured to determine, in response to a CSI request included in the uplink-related DCI, an aperiodic CSI in reference to the CSI-RS. The transceiver is further configured to report the aperiodic CSI by transmitting the aperiodic CSI on an uplink channel.

The controller is further configured to substantially align a third timing of a backhaul uplink (UL) transmission and a fourth timing of an access downlink (DL) transmission, wherein the transceiver is further configured to transmit at least third symbol in a backhaul uplink (UL) transmission to the BS, and transmit at least fourth symbol in the access DL transmission to the UE.

Abstract: Adaptation of measurement procedures for cell detection and association provide more accurate and frequent reports for use by the network, to enhance cell association. A user equipment receives, within a configured measurement bandwidth, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing symbols comprising discovery reference signals (DRS). For subframes in which the DRS are transmitted, a discovery reference signal received quality (D-RSRQ) is determined from the DRS within the received symbols as a ratio of discovery reference signal received power (D-RSRP) to carrier discovery received signal strength indicator (D-RSSI), where the D-RSRP is measured in symbols containing DRS resource elements and the D-RSSI is measured in all symbols in subframes containing the DRS. For a UE configured to also measure common reference signals, non-DRS measurements are suspended upon deactivation of a secondary cell, and measurement timing of the DRS during a deactivation period is based on a measurement timing parameter.
